Story
  My name is Halo and I have been placed in a Texas Shelter and Critter Cavalry Rescue is coming to get me.  My owner has over 25 dogs and the local city Animal Control has made my former owner give up a lot of the dogs.  I am one of them.  I am a pure bred Pekingnese girl that is only 3 years old and I weigh 11 pounds.  I am a really good girl and a family who volunteers with the shelter, saved the day and took me home to foster.   I was terrified when I had to walk in that shelter last week.     They say I am a little treasure chest of love and kisses.   I am housebroken and leash trained and I love all other animals like cats and dogs.  I have also have been around children and I love them too!   I am told that Pekes don't last long in rescue and I really hope not.  I want a new forever home ASAP and I am willing to travel long distances to get a perfect fit.   I am little, pretty and mighty sassy and loving.    Critter Cavalry Rescue is excited to offer me to a well-qualified home that loves my breed and my quick and sassy personality.  I am awaiting your inquiry, so write to the following email:  ccrnewengland@gmail.com   I can ride up from Nashville, TN only the transport van with other dogs and cats.     They will reserve a crate for me this coming weekend, May 3rd if someone qualifies quickly.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 8, 2025, 4:56 pm

Gizmo is a very sweet little boy, however he does not like children due to them tormenting him in his previous home. He has the typical Pekingese personality and we require an adopter familiar with the breed. He would do great as the only dog in the household. He had food and resource guarding issues in the shelter, but we found that not to be problematic in our care. He is just a typical Pekingese. A sensitive breed with a strong personality. We think he is an exceptional little boy that any lover of this breed would adore. A quiet home with someone there most of the time that wants a constant loyal companion and who understands and loves this breed of dog is the best home for Giz. All potential adopters must fill out applications and be approved before meeting the pet they are interested in adopting. To adopt one of the precious lives that we have saved, this rescue requires an approved application, a suitable home environment, a signed adoption contract, and an adoption fee. If approved to adopt, we expect applicants to pick up their new pets in person at the pet's foster location.
