Hi!  My name is Heidi and I am looking for a forever home.  I was surrendered to a small rescue 'cause my owner had to go into assisted living and could no longer care for me.  BCAA was contacted to see if they could help me and they said yes!  I was just a little shy when I first came into foster but everyone is so nice to me that I quickly came out of my shell and love getting attention and being held.  I appear to be a pekingnese mix and my foster mom says I'm super cute with a matching personality.   I am about 3-years old and only weigh around 13lbs which means I will fit just about anywhere!  I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met and haven't really paid any attention to the cats.   While I would much prefer to be out with you, I have done really well in my crate overnight without any accidents, barking or tearing up of my bedding.  I love going for walks and do pretty good on a leash.  I can be a little picky about my food so my foster mom found me some I love; I also enjoy treats which I take very gently.   If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Gizmo is a very sweet little boy, however he does not like children due to them tormenting him in his previous home. He has the typical Pekingese personality and we require an adopter familiar with the breed. He would do great as the only dog in the household. He had food and resource guarding issues in the shelter, but we found that not to be problematic in our care. He is just a typical Pekingese. A sensitive breed with a strong personality. We think he is an exceptional little boy that any lover of this breed would adore. A quiet home with someone there most of the time that wants a constant loyal companion and who understands and loves this breed of dog is the best home for Giz. All potential adopters must fill out applications and be approved before meeting the pet they are interested in adopting. To adopt one of the precious lives that we have saved, this rescue requires an approved application, a suitable home environment, a signed adoption contract, and an adoption fee. If approved to adopt, we expect applicants to pick up their new pets in person at the pet's foster location. PLEASE READ BELOW FOR OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK NORTH NEW JERSEY Harvey is the sweetest little black with white Pekingese boy. He is 13 pounds and probably around 8 years old. He is extremely affectionate with his humans and will stare into your eyes so you know he loves you! He is a fun little guy and loves chasing a tossed toy and playing with the other pups in his foster home. Harvey lived with Teddy (also available, see pic above) and they can go home together or individually. Harvey is very well behaved and a super chill little guy. He LOVES sitting outside in any weather. Even in the rain! He would love a nice grassy area to hang out in and a fenced yard would be even better so he can meander around as he likes. He can be an only dog since his humans are his priority but he can live with other small breed pups (and other Pekes of course). He LOVES running around the yard with his foster siblings. Extensive vetting has been done and he is in excellent health.
