Story
Meet Princess Bella! Princess Bella is a sweet Pekingese lady born January 5, 2013, weighing about 19 pounds. In her foster home she’s lovingly called Vita Bella, meaning “beautiful life,” and she truly enjoys the finer things in life—especially a soft bed and a peaceful home. This sweet 13 year old senior girl is spayed, vaccinated, fully potty trained and has wonderful house manners. Her absolute favorite place is her cozy bed, where she happily spends her time snoozing in comfort. Sleeping is one of her greatest hobbies—and she’s even been known to provide a little adorable snoring soundtrack while she dreams. Princess Bella has a calm personality and enjoys a relaxed routine. She’s perfectly content lounging nearby, enjoying a soft bed, and being part of a peaceful home. She would do best as an only dog. Princess She would do best in a home without small children, as she prefers a quieter environment where she can feel comfortable and respected. At this stage in life, she’s looking for a loving family who will appreciate her sweet nature and give her the comfort every princess deserves. If you’re looking for a low-key companion who will happily nap the day away and keep you company, Princess Bella (Vita Bella) may be the perfect addition to your home. She’s ready to spend her golden years being loved like the royalty she is. 💕 Adoption fee is: $250 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. Story
Meet Swiffer Honey! 🍯 Swiffer Honey is a beautiful, adorable, gentle cream-colored Shih Tzu, just 2 years old and 9 pounds. She has been through more than any dog should ever have to endure. Swiffer Honey was rescued from a breeding/hoarding situation, where she was found completely matted and covered in urine and feces. When she first arrived at CAMO, she was incredibly shut down and frightened. She didn’t understand that she was finally safe. She is still a very shy girl, but little by little, we’ve watched her blossom. She has become more relaxed and is learning that people can be kind and that she doesn’t have to be afraid anymore. Swiffer Honey would do best in a quiet, patient home with another calm, sweet dog who can show her the ropes and help teach her how to simply be a dog. She would benefit tremendously from having a confident canine friend to follow and learn from. 🐾 Because of her timid nature, Swiffer Honey is also a potential flight risk. Her family will need to be extremely careful with doors, gates, and outings. She should never be left outside unattended, even in a fenced yard. Swiffer Honey doesn’t need a perfect home—she needs a safe, patient, loving home that will give her the time she deserves. She has already come so far, and we know there is a sweet little girl waiting to emerge when she finally feels completely secure. 🍯 If you can give Swiffer Honey the patience, safety, and love she’s been missing, you could change her life forever. 🐶💕 Adoption fee: $500 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. Story
Meet Zolo—short for Zoloft, your daily dose of adorable! 💛 Side effects may include excessive cuddling, a full camera roll, and never going to the bathroom alone. With his long tongue constantly hanging out, disproportionately large paws, and bow legs that make us go “huh… how did all this come together?” Zolo is an unforgettable little package. We have questions about his assembly, but absolutely no complaints. 😂This happy boy just wants to be part of the gang! He loves dogs big and small and is friendly with cats, whether they want to be buddies or politely decline his friendship. He can be a little enthusiastic about introductions, but after a day or two, he settles into life with the pack. He eats separately from his foster siblings and already knows his dining spot—table for one, please!Zolo’s hobbies include car rides, snacks, short walks when it’s cool enough, brief sunbathing sessions, and supervising your every move. His dream job? Full-time companion, with unlimited lap privileges. He even uses little doggie stairs to get onto the couch and bed. Independent transportation to the cuddle department! 🥹Zolo does have past trauma, so trust takes time. He doesn’t like being picked up or touched with feet and may growl when he’s uncomfortable. That’s his way of asking for space, and he needs people who listen, respect his boundaries, and let him settle in at his own pace. In just a few weeks with his foster, he’s already become much more comfortable and rarely growls. Under that initially sassy exterior is a deeply affectionate little love bug.His ideal home is calm, without small children, and with someone home much of the day. He enjoys little backyard outings throughout the day and then heading back inside to his people. His sturdy little bow legs generally keep up with him, though they can shake after too much activity, so a gentle pace suits him. He’s smart, too: he learned his new name in just two weeks! He asks to go outside and will also use a washable pad. His foster reports good vision and hearing, and he takes his twice-daily eye medication without a fuss.Zolo’s prescription for happiness? Patience, a peaceful home, furry friends, and a person who loves having a little shadow. Give him time to feel safe, and he’ll happily fill your days—and your lap—with love.To apply to have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website at https://longwayhome.org/adopt.❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.
