Between the short legs and that face he is literally the cutest. He loves to roll over and have his belly rubbed. He is the best of both worlds… he loves to snuggle and he loves to play! One of our rescue friends was at a high kill shelter in South TX when she saw a lady surrendering six tiny pups who would not stand a chance in the shelter. She asked the lady if she would give them to her instead and she did. Thankfully she gave the pups the best chance at finding forever homes. Willie is fostered with his brother Toby and they both sleep great in their crate at night. Their foster take them outside a lot so they are working hard on housetraining … see they are super smart and adorable. Don’t miss out on this sweet boy! Lulu came to K9 Rescue when her care taker went into a nursing home. She came from a home where she was loved and shared attention with another small dog. This is one of the reasons she is outgoing and happy to meet new people, including men! She picks up on new routines quickly and adjusted easily to the foster home, including learning that she needs to do her business outside. Lulu knows her name and will come to you when you talk to her. She also knows how to sit on command. Lulu is a sweet girl that loves to snuggle and cuddle! She makes the perfect lap dog and wants to be with you as much as possible. Lulu is gorgeous with big brown eyes, the softest coat, and a cute underbite. She is quiet in the crate although she would much prefer to follow you around and sit on your lap. She will happily sleep with you at night and stays very still and only occasionally makes little snoring noises. Lulu gets so excited to see the leash, and is good for a short walk. She will walk on the leash with another dog as well, even though she has short legs. Lulu is comfortable having other dogs in the house, mostly ignoring them. She will guard her food and growl if they get to close to her bowl while they are eating. She ready to be a loving companion in her new forever home! Lulu is a female Pekingese with an estimated date of birth of 3/1/2017.

Story

Conrad is a 10 year pekingese mix who weighs 10lbs. He has had a rough time in his senior years and found himself at the Pasadena Animal Shelter in horrible condition. He was a matted mess with infected skin, an infection in his prostate (common in senior/unaltered males), terrible dental disease, a large gall stone and cataracts causing some mild vision impairment. After extensive vetting, Conrad is now on the road to recovery and feeling so much better. He is now neutered and has had his teeth cleaned. Most of them needed to be extracted but he does just fine with eating kibble and even enjoys chewing soft bones. He has been treated for his various infections and all are resolved. He is on medication for his gall stone indefinitely, but it is shrinking and the cost of these meds in not expensive. He will need to be on Denamarin and Ursodial for life (about $60 a month). Conrad spends a lot of time napping and also enjoys basking in the sun or roaming around the yard. He sees great in the daylight, but has difficulty seeing in the dark. A secure backyard without a pool would be best for Conrad. He is crate trained and mostly house trained but will occasionally mark. This is an easy fix with a belly band and will hopefully subside now that he is neutered. Consist and predictable outside time will also help with house training. He is a happy guy most of the time but can sometimes be a bit ornery when he is woken up suddenly. We think he is probably not used to being able to trust his environment so he sometimes feels he needs to defend himself. He will growl out of fear, but has never bitten. Conrad simply needs a quiet place to rest and be loved for his remaining years. An adult only home would be best for Conrad. Conrad is heartworm positive but the cost of treatment will be covered by the rescue. Conrad is undergoing the slow kill method and has received a ProHeart-6 injection and 30 days of doxycycline. He will be retested in 6 months. Adoption fee is: $200 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. Kevin is a 5 year old Pekingese! He is looking for a new home because he doesn’t get along with young kiddos (big kiddos okay!) and his humans had a baby and it’s just isn’t working. Kevin is not happy with the baby and wants a baby free home, he says. Kevin is shy at first, but warms up and is your friend forever. He does resource guard because his brother (RIP Snoop) used to steal his food. He is all talk & no bite (his teeth don’t even line up to bite let’s be real).
