Story
About Me: Name: Bright Frankie Breed (or best guess): Pekingese mix ? Approximate Age: 2 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 14 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving Family, only dog Why In Rescue: stray/lost dog Profile:  Bright Frankie was found as a stray/lost dog in Milwaukee County and no one came for her so she is looking for a new family.  We don't have a history or background on her and breed/age are our best guesses.  Frankie appears to be a double merle color and is deaf.  She is a sweet and loving dog just waiting for a home of her own.  Frankie does not like other dogs so will need to be an only dog. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS June 27, 2026, 11:45 am

Story
Natasha is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet her, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application. Do you like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain? Wait...wrong vibe. Our girl Natasha here wants to know - do you like being outside on the front porch watching the world go by or hanging in the backyard? Going for walks and then relaxing with a blanket and a cuddle toy? She likes to play with her foster canine siblings so she`s good with other dogs, as long as they`re not too much bigger than she is and they can have a proper introduction. (She`s a lady, after all.) Natasha needs TLC and some decompression time. She is the epitome of resilience in a rescue dog. While there isn`t a clear picture of this owner surrender, we have a feeling it wasn`t a happy-go-lucky one, so she reacts a bit nervously around loud noises and erratic movements. She retreats but is learning to trust again and not be too scared. She learns quickly and has come a long way since arriving at SCCR. This dainty and demure lil girl may come off as shy, but she just needs a bit of patience, and she will bloom like the brave little flower that she is. She prefers to do things on her terms, on her own timeline. (Don`t we all though, really?!) Slow and steady wins the race. Natasha is poised to cross the finish line and win it all gaining her forever family. In reality, she is the prize for that family! Are you ready to be Natashas cheerleader and root her on? Fill out an application and come meet Natasha! We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dogs individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we dont know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!

Story
My dog is 10 years old my actually baby, he’s been with me the whole time and unfortunately my step son is moving in and he does not get along with young children at all. He has some temperament issues and can get growlie at times, but he’s best with commands, so if you want him to do something just tell him don’t push him. He would do best in an older home with no kids or single home with no kids and a yard of his own. He gets along with most dogs but it really depends. If walking on a leash he needs to be kept away from children as he is very reactive. Other than that he’s a big cuddler and knows all commands. He was trained on a shock collar so he will come to the tone of a beep. The only thing he’s really scared of is fireworks, other than that he’s a good dog.

Story
Hi my name is Mishel and I am an 8 year old Shih Tzu/Pekingese mix. My foster mom says I look like a little cow, which is funny because I love to eat! I love to snuggle on the couch, or in the bed and realx while watching a good tv show. I am great around other small dogs, and love to snuggle with them as well. I would prefer to go to a home without children as the loud noises sometimes overwhelm me. I am working on my potty training and am able to hold my potty all day while my humans are at work. I love to follow the other dogs around the fenced-in yard to explore. I'd do best in a fenced yard as this is what I'm used to. I love having toys to play with and enjoy playing fetch with my humans. Squeaky toys are my favorite! I have had all of my shots, have been spayed, and am ready for my forever home! If you are looking for a lap dog who loves to cuddle, play fetch and snuggle on the couch I am your girl! Reach out to my foster mom, Melanie if you are interested in meeting me or for more details. 🐾😊 Melanie.cruz1223@gmail.com Please share so we can find this sweet girl her forever home. 🙂 Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue TINY PAWS DATCP #274478
