She has stubby little legs, and a fluffy tail. She will enjoy sleeping on the bed with you, and is very affectionate, a little on the shy side. Meet MARGOT and STERLING, two of the four Persians we recently welcomed into PURR. Sadly, we know very little about their past because they were literally abandoned — dumped overnight in the parking lot outside of an animal shelter in New Jersey. Shortly after coming into our care, both developed severe upper respiratory infections, and it took quite some time to get them fully healthy again. Unfortunately, with their smooshed little Persian faces, respiratory illnesses can be especially difficult for them to recover from. Thankfully, after lots of care, patience, and treatment, they are finally feeling better and ready to begin the next chapter of their lives. ❤️ They have now both been fully vetted — spayed/neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, combo tested negative, and microchipped — and are officially ready to find their forever home. Sterling and Margo are incredibly bonded but we don’t know exactly what their relationship is. Sterling outweighs tiny Margo by several pounds, while she is under five pounds and appears to be only around 7–8 months old. Whether they are related or simply became attached through hardship, that part of their story may always remain a mystery. What we do know without question is that they absolutely adore each other and find tremendous comfort and security together. Because of that, they will only be adopted as a pair. This new friend has just arrived! They have come to us either as a transfer from another shelter, being found as a stray, or have been surrendered to us by their owner. When our friends are new to us, we are typically unsure of their full background, litter box habits, comfort with handling, or experience with other pets or children. Our staff will spend some time reviewing any information provided by previous owners and spend some time with our new friend so that we can better update their biography. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.
