Story
✨ Meet Twyla ✨ Some cats spend their first days of motherhood in warm, loving homes. Twyla wasn’t that lucky. This beautiful long-haired brown torbie gave birth to her babies on the steps of a stranger’s home in the River Rouge area, doing everything she could to keep them safe. Thankfully, a compassionate resident called for help, and Twyla and her tiny newborns were brought to the shelter. We quickly picked them up and welcomed them into a loving foster home, where Twyla could finally breathe, rest, and simply be a mom. She has done her job beautifully. Her kittens are growing up, finding families of their own, and now it’s Twyla’s turn. Twyla is everything you could want in a companion—gentle, affectionate, playful, and absolutely stunning. Her soft, flowing coat and sweet personality make her impossible not to fall in love with. She enjoys chasing toys, soaking up attention, and can often be found dreaming away in a sunny window, watching the world go by. After everything she’s been through, we want nothing more than for Twyla to know what it’s like to have a family that is hers forever. No more uncertainty. No more surviving. Just a cozy bed, warm sunbeams, gentle hands, and a home where she will always be cherished. If you’ve been thinking about adding a cat to your family, maybe Twyla has been waiting for you all along. Let’s make sure this sweet mama’s story ends exactly the way it should—with love, safety, and a forever home. 💕 To apply to adopt Twyla, visit: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SMS/Cat

Story
Meet Peanut Butter. This gorgeous long-haired calico is a shy girl who will need someone patient enough to give her the time and space she needs to learn to trust. She seems to do well with other cats and would likely thrive best in a quiet home where life is predictable and calm, without too many surprises. Shy or timid cats often show their fear in small ways. They may hide at first, keep their distance, or watch the world from a safe corner while they figure out if everything around them is okay. Loud noises, sudden movements, or a lot of activity can make them feel overwhelmed. But behind that cautious exterior is usually a very thoughtful, sensitive soul who just needs a little time to realize they are finally safe. The beautiful thing about adopting a shy cat is the journey you get to share with them. The first time they choose to sit near you… the first gentle head bump… the first time they curl up beside you — those moments feel incredibly special because you know they chose you. When a scared cat learns to trust, that bond is often incredibly deep. They become loyal, loving companions who form strong connections with their person. Cats like Peanut Butter simply need someone willing to move at their pace and show them that kindness and patience exist. And when they finally blossom, it’s one of the most rewarding experiences you can have as a pet parent. 🧡
