Cats have a reputation, don’t we, of being royal “snobs.” As Rod McKuen said, `Cats have it all – admiration, an endless sleep, and company only when they want it.` I’m Duchess, a white and grey Persian mix, but I have not been feeling regal at all since my person passed away. My best friend Brody and I have been sad, but now we are at the shelter to find a new home together. I am a little shy, but I am very sweet, and I love being petted. I miss the companionship that I had with my person. I like to play, but I am not overly active. My lovely coat became matted from lack of care and needs grooming. I will look and feel better having someone caring for me. Brody and I are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together. I’m a lovely lady who’s not looking for a palace. Because I was so young, being in a strange home was scary! I was just a little 2-month-old kitten! I had only gotten used to one person, and now my brothers and I were in a strange house! I’m a pretty, long-haired girl called Ruthie. The man we knew brought us to a shelter, and then we went to a woman’s home to stay. She has a nice porch where we stayed, and it took the four of us about two weeks before we stopped being nervous. The lady came and sat every day, and soon we got to know her. She talked to us, and she let us climb all over her chairs. We ran around, chased and wrestled, and played with toys. I had a nasty thing called a bot fly in my neck, so I had to get that cut out. Yuk! I didn’t like that at all! But I was a good girl. I’m better now! I’m finally getting comfortable being held, but I might still get squirmy because my favorite thing is playing! I’m a gorgeous girl, but please be sure to comb or brush my coat so won’t get tangled or matted. I know you’ll love sweet Ruthie girl.Adoption fee $150 + microchip fee $30 + tax
