Cats have a reputation, don’t we, of being royal “snobs.” As Rod McKuen said, `Cats have it all – admiration, an endless sleep, and company only when they want it.` I’m Duchess, a white and grey Persian mix, but I have not been feeling regal at all since my person passed away. My best friend Brody and I have been sad, but now we are at the shelter to find a new home together. I am a little shy, but I am very sweet, and I love being petted. I miss the companionship that I had with my person. I like to play, but I am not overly active. My lovely coat became matted from lack of care and needs grooming. I will look and feel better having someone caring for me. Brody and I are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together. I’m a lovely lady who’s not looking for a palace. Ever heard of “tortitude”? Yeah, I’ve got a little bit of that — but only slightly! I was living on my own for a few months before being found by a kind lady who helped me learn that people can be pretty wonderful. Now that I’ve learned to trust, I absolutely LOVE affection and spending time with my people. I can also be a little chatty — don’t worry, I’ll always let you know exactly how I’m feeling about things! My favorite things include sunny windows, cozy laps, and plenty of attention.
