Oh, Henry! Nope, I’m not Henry anymore. That’s what I was called many years ago. I was found in a cemetery back in 2017. I was adopted into a loving home, and I became Mickey! I thought I would be there forever. But then I got diabetes, and my people couldn’t afford my medicine, so after 8 years in my home, they brought me back to the shelter. I spent some time in a foster home, and now I am back at the shelter so I can meet the person who will love and care for me for the rest of my life. My blood sugar is checked three times a day, and my diabetes is treated with insulin. I need someone who will be committed to monitoring my sugar levels and continuing to administer my insulin. I have gained weight since I went to my foster home; weight monitoring will be important, as will regular veterinary checkups. That may sound like a lot, but I am worth it. I’m 11 ½ years old, and I’m still a charming, handsome dude. I am a sweet, gentle boy who loves being petted and talked to. I enjoy being brushed – up to a point; I will walk away when I’ve had enough. When my exercise time is over, I am very good about going back into my kennel. I am doing okay here, but I really miss being in a home. Remember that song, “Hey Mickey” by Bring It On? `Oh, Mickey, you’re so fine. You’re so fine you blow my mind. My foster mom found me living in a drain pipe near her work. I was terrified! But after a little bit of time, I have discovered that I love being indoors! I am a big boy, but I have a tiny little chirpy meow that I use to make sure that my foster mom knows that I am ready to eat! I am an easy-going young cat, who loves to look out the windows, snuggle by your feet, and I do great with other cats!
