Story
Hi there! My name is Toby! My fosters absolutely adore me and are hoping to find me a loving family soon! I'm a 12 year old 70lb Pitsky. I was rescued from Roswell NM in a kill-shelter and made the journey here, but unfortunately no one knows much more about my past than that. Anyone that meets me falls in love immediately. Although I'm a senior pup, I absolutely love to play! I keep up with all the younger pups while they run in the yard. I deserve so much! My fosters say I am the absolute best dog. I am housetrained, know how to use a dog door, love to go for walks, love cuddles, good in the car, crate trained, good with dogs, kids, and likely cats too. I would be a perfect addition to any home. I would absolutely love a family that will give me lots of attention, love, and security. I'm a very easy dog and although I enjoy my playtime, I am also content to nap and sunbathe. I do these goofy play bows and like to voice my opinions when I play... probably my husky side coming out. I love to run around with the nearest toy, chew on bones, or play with my other doggie friends I also like to sit with just my front half on the couch and stand off it with my back legs. Also if you look like a good target... I will always take the chance to rub up on you for pets and love!! My favorite are butt scratches and I'll even waddle back and forth if you get it just right. I have such a goofy personality and would love to share it with you. My fosters are confident I will be a constant source of giggles and happiness to anyone lucky enough to meet me! If you're looking for an older pup deserving the world, you found me! Could you be Toby's forever people?

These pups are in Fort Lupton, Colorado too!

Story
Video 1 (copy and paste into a new browser window) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLS7qQ0Yj1I Video 2 (copy and paste into a new browser window) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F91z-04nVI Badger is a husky mix who was listed at the shelter as 8 years old. When he first arrived, I thought he was much older and that he would be a hospice case. He was stiff and frozen in fear and skinny. He would barely move. I put him in a kennel with younger dogs and he soon found his youthful spirit again and is like a different dog now. I don't know his age for sure but he has lots of life and happiness left in him and I think he is younger than 8. He weighs about 60 lbs now. He learned how to climb out of the 6 ft chain link kennel but he doesn't stray far from it except to follow me on walks. He goes down the pond to take a dip but mostly just hangs out by the kennel. So while he has the skills of a husky to escape, he doesn't have the urge of a husky to run off and go explore. I don't even put him up when I leave because he doesn't go anywhere. He is great with other dogs but sometimes doesn't know how big he is so he wouldn't be good around scared little dogs. Not because he would hurt them, but because they might get scared of him. He is fine with my chihuahuas but they are very bossy and not scared of anything. For that reason, I also don't think he should be around cats. To be clear, he is not aggressive at all, he just tries to play with everything and with his size that just wouldn't work with a dog or cats that's scared of him. He is very food motivated and walks well on the leash as well. He is an awesome boy and I am glad he didn't die at the kill shelter. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Story
Polaris is a young girl who was found dumped on the side of the road with a bag of dog food dumped on the ground as her only help for survival. A good samaritan picked her up and contacted me. Help Polaris never face that kind of treatment again by giving her a forever home. She is very sweet and friendly and great with other dogs and people and kids. She definitely has a prey drive though, which is not at all unusual for dogs, so no kitties or small animals. She walks well on the leash and does well in a crate. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. Story
Trey is a 3-year-old adult male pup who looks like a Husky–Shepherd mix, and he’s so handsome! This gorgeous young lad is friendly, gentle, and a little shy in the sweetest way. He gets along well with other dogs and has an easy, well-mannered vibe that makes him a joy to be around. On our walk, Trey loved taking his time sniffing around the park and happily accepting treats (he’s definitely food-motivated, which is always helpful for training!). Although he is a big boy, he walked great on leash and we had an enjoyable time out with him! With his sweet personality, striking look and magnetic presence, Trey is the kind of dog who’s likely to get scooped up fast!
