Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Amber Lynn finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Amber Lynn | 1-Year-Old Shepherd Mix | Gentle Soul Learning to Trust Amber Lynn is a 1-year-old, 35-pound black-and-brown shepherd mix with a beautiful coat and a soft, sensitive heart. She is a sweet, calm, and friendly young dog who is still learning that the world—and people—can be kind. Amber Lynn is house trained and uses a doggie door, with little to no accidents, though as with any dog, occasional accidents can happen when adjusting to a new environment. She settles well and sleeps soundly through the night - she loves climbing into bed with her foster sister to cuddle and snooze through the night. She does great when left alone for short periods (up to about two hours) with other dogs in the house. Amber Lynn has positive interactions with other dogs of all sizes and especially enjoys playing with them outside. Given her history of living with many dogs, she seems to take comfort in canine companionship and would likely do best in a home with another dog. She has not met cats yet. She does well with older children and has been comfortable around kids ages 10 and up. While she was initially more comfortable with women, she has warmed up nicely to men and now enjoys quiet couch time and gentle affection from her foster family. Leashes are still a work in progress for Amber Lynn and currently feel overwhelming for her, but her foster plans to start gently introducing leash training. She has a medium energy level—happy with short bursts of activity and play, followed by plenty of downtime and naps. She knows basic cues like “come” and “no,” responds well to structure, and is motivated by both food and affection. She loves treats (especially gravy-flavored milk bones) but hasn’t quite discovered a favorite toy yet. Amber Lynn can be shy and a bit nervous, especially with certain types of touch, and may back away at first. However, when given time and space, she shows just how affectionate she can be—resting her head on your lap, snuggling on the couch, and curling up close to her canine companion at bedtime. She has made steady progress since coming into foster care and continues to grow more confident each day. Occasionally, she may chew on things when left alone, though this happens infrequently. Her ideal home would be a patient, calm household with another dog, where she can continue building confidence at her own pace and enjoy a lifetime of gentle love and companionship.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Pochocco #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Pochacco | 7-Month-Old Husky | A Shy Soul with a Playful Husky Heart Pochacco—affectionately known as “Muchacho,” “Chacho” and “Mucho” in his foster home—is a 7-month-old Husky who is still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. He’s already a big boy and growing into those classic husky traits: playful, curious, occasionally vocal, and full of potential. He’s close to being house trained, though adopters should expect some accidents during the transition to a new environment. He does best when crated at night or when left alone, as he’s firmly in the mischievous puppy phase and enjoys exploring with his mouth. Pochacco is very shy with people and currently fearful of leashes and cars, so walks are still a work in progress. He has shown steady improvement, but passing cars can still startle him and he will try to retreat. When he first arrived, he wouldn’t allow pets at all, but with time, patience, and the influence of the confident dogs in his foster home, he has begun to seek out gentle affection. He seems to warm up to women more quickly than men, though with consistency and kindness he continues building trust with everyone. He is very much a dog’s dog and absolutely thrives around other dogs—playing chase, wrestling, and gaining confidence from their presence. Because of this, Pochacco will need a home with another playful, confident dog to help guide him. He also does well with cats and generally ignores them. As he’s become more comfortable, Pochacco has started showing affection in his own husky way—through excited “love nibbles.” These are not aggressive, but they can be enthusiastic, so he would do best in a home with older children who can understand and help reinforce appropriate boundaries. This sweet boy loves toys, treats, and canine companionship. While he’s still building confidence with cuddles, he enjoys being near his people and observing from a safe distance. Pochacco will do best with a calm, patient adopter who understands huskies (or is eager to learn), has a securely fenced yard, and is committed to ongoing training and confidence-building. With time and understanding, he has all the makings of a loyal, playful, and deeply devoted companion—he just needs the right environment to help him shine.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post. To apply to adopt Sasha, please click here! For more information, please contact Destination Rescue Dogs at info@destinationrescue.org or amber.schroeder@gmail.com or call 602-743-0006   Meet Sasha! Found wandering along railroad tracks with her two puppies, Sasha was heartbreakingly thin and struggling to survive. She protected her little family with everything she had, but when rescued, it was clear she was exhausted and malnourished. Fortunately, her foster mom found her and took amazing care of her!  Sasha is thriving in her foster home and ready to find her forever family! Sasha is the perfect blend of playful energy and loyal companionship. This gorgeous girl is the kind of dog who’ll make every day a little brighter, whether she’s chasing after her favorite ball or curling up at your feet after a long day. Sasha absolutely lives for a good game of fetch, she could play for hours if you let her, always ready with that eager tail wag and happy grin that says, “One more throw, please!” When it’s time to relax, Sasha knows how to settle in. She’s crate trained, completely house trained, and loves nothing more than being near her people snuggled close while you watch your favorite show or unwind for the evening. She walks beautifully on a leash or harness, making her the perfect adventure buddy for anyone who enjoys strolls around the neighborhood or exploring the trails. Sasha would thrive with an active family or someone willing to throw the ball for her every day. She gets along well with other dogs but would be just as happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. In every way, Sasha is ready to be someone’s best friend, playful, loving, loyal, and full of heart. If you’re looking for a dog who will bring laughter, companionship, and endless games of fetch into your life, Sasha is waiting to meet you. Sasha is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 48 lbs. Sasha is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas but is available for transport to many locations across the country. Transport fee is included in her adoption fee.December 25, 2025, 10:44 am
