If you look closely at Briar, you'll see two different dogs.
One is the playful, handsome boy who loves to have fun, whose spirit shines when he feels safe and loved. The other is the dog who's trying his best to make it through another day at the shelter—a place that's simply too loud, too busy, and too overwhelming for a heart as gentle as his.
Briar wasn't meant to live behind kennel doors. He was meant to stretch out on a couch, chase toys across a backyard, greet his favorite people at the front door, and fall asleep knowing he's finally home.
Every day he waits is another day he doesn't get to be the dog he's meant to be.
He doesn't need a perfect family. He just needs someone willing to see past the shelter and recognize the incredible companion waiting underneath. Give Briar a little patience, a little kindness, and a place to belong, and you'll watch him blossom into the happy, playful dog he's always wanted to be.
His home is out there somewhere. Maybe it's been yours all along.

Gateway Pet Guardians is proud to offer a variety of mixed breed dogs available for adoption. However, please keep in mind that we rarely know the genetic background of the animals we rescue and, as such, we cannot guarantee the exact breed combinations found within this dog. However, we do not know his actual genetic makeup. Just know that this dog is probably a variety of several different breeds that have combined to create one very amazing and unique animal.
