Story
My father passed away in March, and after his passing, one of my good friends stepped up and took his dog in. I’ll forever be grateful that he gave him a safe and loving place during such a difficult time. Unfortunately, because of his job, my friend has to travel frequently and can no longer give him the time and care he deserves. I have a toddler at home, and with everything going on, I’m not in a position where I can safely and responsibly take him in myself. That breaks my heart because this dog means more to me than just being a pet—he is a piece of my father that is still here with us. He is a great dog, and I desperately want to find him a home where he will be loved, cared for, and treated like family. I’m not looking to simply give him away to anyone. I want to find the right person or family who will give him the life he deserves. If you or someone you know may be able to help, please reach out to me.

He likes being brushed but he won’t sit still for it. He likes butt scratches, he likes the filings inside of bones. He’s tried different things like apples and carrots. He will sit when you’re eating food and wait for you to acknowledge him and give him food. He’ll chew on his nails. He likes toys. He’s a glutton for food. He likes drinking water from a ceramic bowl, not so much a metal bowl. He likes playing with laser pointers. His birthday is 04/02/21. He loves to cuddle (he thinks he’s a lap dog). He likes sun bathing and playing in the snow if it’s not too deep. He likes eating snow and ice. He loves being loved. He’s really special and deserves to be loved. He tries to take off his bandana. He alternates between sleeping with you and sleeping on the couch and just outside your room. He’s treat motivated. He lets you know when he wants to go outside by standing by the day door. He’ll do the same for water and food and he’ll nudge the bowls to let you know he’s hungry and thirsty.
