Story
We got Lacey as a puppy and had her for about 10 years. We've had a couple of incidents with our dog reacting to children trying to pick her up or falling on her. She has caught them with her teeth when she reacted. She is a good dog who spends most of her time outside. She is used to an electric fence and being able to roam in our yard but is inside during the winter. Ideal home would be somewhere that she can run that doesn't have younger children around.

Story
Ozzy came into my life in a very special way. He was gifted to me at 4 months old by a dear friend who was battling cancer. She wanted to make sure he went to a loving home where he would be safe, cared for, and truly loved and I promised her I would do that for him. Ozzy is now 1 year old and has grown into such a sweet, loyal, and loving dog. He has a big heart and an even bigger personality. He absolutely loves to play especially with his giant wooden blocks and enjoys chewing on bigger toys. He’s an active dog who needs space to run, play, and get his energy out. A home with a yard or someone who enjoys being outdoors would be perfect for him. Ozzy is also incredibly affectionate. He loves to cuddle, be close to you, and feels happiest when he’s part of a “pack.” While he can be on his own, he truly thrives when he has people around him. He listens well and is a good boy, but like many young German Shepherds, he would benefit from continued training and structure to help him.

Story
Murphy was known as Sean at the shelter at San Antonio. He had been injured by a car and was taken to the shelter where he was placed on the euthanasia list after a few short days. He didn’t have much hope left and had given up. After seeing the sadness in his eyes, we knew we had to help. He was transported to Ohio and was seen by our orthopedic surgeon who determined he had to lose his long beautiful tail, but there was also a good chance he would need a femoral head ostectomy to correct his hip and leg. Because a small amount of healing was noted, he was given 3 weeks to determine if his body would heal enough on its own and we could spare him the pain of surgery. That turned out to be the case, so this sweet guy only lost his tail. Murphy is doing wonderfully and continues to heal and gain strength. He has been cleared for adoption and is hoping to find a very loving family to give him the life he deserves. Murphy is a shepherd mix. Best guess by the vet is a mix with Chow Chow because of his tiny, flopped over ears, but we aren’t sure. If you would like to meet this lovebug, please submit an application on our website, canaananimalsanctuary.org.

Looking for a fun-loving, high-energy best friend? Meet Rogue, a beautiful German Shepherd/ Husky mix…the perfect blend of brains, beauty, and boundless enthusiasm! About her: sweet and affectionate with adults. LOVES to run, play, and stay active
. Smart, curious, and always ready for her next adventure. She thrives with structure, exercise, and continued training. She would absolutely shine with an active owner who enjoys walks, hikes, jogs, or backyard play sessions. Energy Level: High!
She has a big zest for life and can get a little too excited around very young children (she thinks they’re re fun-sized playmates), so she would do best in a home with older kids or adults.

Pretty girl Luna was adopted by us about 4 years ago when her original family had to relocate due to military. We were battle buddies. Luna is potty trained, energetic, loves to play fetch and loves to cuddle. We're just a busy family in a small space and don't have the time she deserves ! We hope she goes somewhere she will have space and a loving family!

Story
ObiMaleAge: 1 yearWeight: 43 lbsBreed: German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd Mix Hi! I’m Obi. If you’re looking for a dog who will love you with his whole heart (and probably sit directly on top of you while doing it), I might just be your guy. I’m a loving, clingy, and silly boy who just wants to be as close to my people as possible. I’m great with kids, other dogs, and even cats. When I meet smaller dogs or cats, I get excited and curious, so I like to give them a good sniff—but once my investigation is complete, I happily move along. Kids can get right up in my face and I’m totally cool with it. I’m a patient, gentle buddy who just enjoys being part of the family. I’m a well-mannered guy too! I’m house trained, crate trained, and I walk nicely on a leash. I also know some important commands like sit, lay down, and leave it. When it’s playtime, I love when you throw things for me, and when it’s relax time, you’ll probably find me chewing a toy while laying on my back or smushing into you on the couch. I love food… like, really love food. If it’s edible—or even used to have food in it—I will probably try to investigate it. So keeping snacks and food containers out of reach will help me stay out of trouble. I’m also a bit of an athlete and have been known to jump, so I’ll need a stand-alone home with a tall fenced yard where I can safely run and explore all the amazing smells outside. Speaking of smells—I love them! Every walk is like reading the daily news for me. I’ll also let you know if someone is outside or knocking at the door. I like to keep an eye on things and make sure my home and people are safe. At the end of the day, I’m just a big love bug who wants someone to lean on and share life with. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side (and probably on top of you on the couch), I’d love to meet you. If you are interested in meeting Obi apply to adopt him at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $350. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 or older. ##2654688##
