Story
HELLO! I found miss Sophie under an overpass on a busy road, I ended up finding her humans so I took her back. The next day, they had reached out to me and said they actually couldn’t keep her so I’m assuming they put her under that overpass.. I went and picked her up but I can’t keep her because I don’t have enough space with my two dogs already She is so so loving and loves cuddles and just needs a home.

Story
Hello all! This is Apollo. Apollo is the sweetest, most loving dog one could ask for. He thinks he's a lap dog (he's not). After getting him from the shelter a year ago, we've come to the unfortunate decision that we are not able to give him the amount of time or love that he deserves. We are trying to rehome him so that he can go to a family that has the time to spend with him that he really deserves. There will be a re-homing fee of $125. He will come with all of the food that we have for him, some of his toys (that he hasn't damaged too much. He's a little rough with toys), and a nice harness recommended by the trainer when we took him through the PetSmart Dog Training. To those of you who judge us for this decision, please understand that we aren't making decision lightly, and it has been made with a heavy heart, as we will miss him terribly, but he doesn't currently have the quality of life that he deserves.

Story
Meet Zenna! Zenna is a 1-year-old female German Shepherd mix! She weighs 48 pounds, but we suspect still has some filling out to do. Zenna totally has a German Shepherd personality and a big bark. She is crate-trained and potty-trained. She was rescued from an Ohio pound and came to us with a lack of understanding of rules and boundaries. Foster mom and family have worked very hard to instill rules and boundaries. She is young and still learning, so she will need someone to continue to work with her and be willing to take her to a trainer. We are looking for an active person or family with large breed dog experience. She loves other dogs, but can be a lot for them to handle, so they need to be good at playing! She is good with kids, but unfortunately, she does not care who is standing in her way and will plow you down, so we are looking for a home with kids over 8. She will chase the cats if they run from her, but she is not being aggressive; she just wants them to play with her. If the cats don't run, she doesn't chase. She will also be good as an only dog as long as you are willing to entertain her. She is gogogo, but will eventually settle down into a routine. Adoption Fee: $400 Place an application to be considered to adopt our girl Zenna! Her DNA result is also included in her photos! https://www.safeharboranimalrescue.org/application

Story
Meet Dodger. He was saved from an overcrowded shelter where he was at risk of euthanasia. He is now fully vetted, neutered and all vaccines. Dodger did test positive for Ehrlichia before he came to us and was put on a regime of doxycycline. He should need no further treatment and has no symptoms. He loves to play with other dogs and would benefit from another dog in the household. Not yet sure on cats. He is a friendly guy but young children may nut he a good fit due to his exuberance .  I do prefer a fenced yard for Dodger so he can play and burn off energy. His foster dad has been working on commands with him and Dodger is a quick learner and doing great. His adoption fee is $200. If interested in Dodger, please email hartmanshounds@gmail.com.March 10, 2026, 2:10 pm
