Kai is the kind of dog who doesn't ask for much—just a family to call his own, a cozy place to nap, and plenty of scratches and belly rubs from his favorite people.
This handsome Husky mix may seem a little reserved when you first meet him, but give him a little time and you'll discover an incredibly sweet, gentle companion. Once you've earned his trust, Kai absolutely melts for affection. Ear scratches? Yes, please. Belly rubs? Even better. Nothing makes him happier than spending quiet time with the people he loves.
Kai is an intelligent, thoughtful dog who enjoys exploring the world at his own pace. He's independent enough to entertain himself but always appreciates checking in with his favorite humans for a little extra love and reassurance.
Kai would do best as the only pet, where he can soak up all the attention he deserves.
Kai also has an autoimmune eye condition called pannus, but don't let that scare you! It's easily managed with daily eye drops and doesn't slow him down one bit. He still enjoys life to the fullest and is just as ready for walks, adventures, naps, and cuddles as any other dog.
More than anything, Kai is hoping someone will look past the shelter and see the wonderful dog waiting inside. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will reward your patience with endless love, belly-up cuddle sessions, and quiet devotion, Kai is ready to meet you.
He may not be the first dog to run into your arms—but once he does, you'll wonder how you ever lived without him.
