If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail any questions to: joshuahtrescue@gmail.com PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Can you guess how I got the name Goofy? Can you? It's because I’m goofy! Silly people tried calling me Macaron, even Mac, but those names are too serious for a goofy boy like me! I love to play with people and other dogs. My foster home has a lot of other dogs and puppies, and I'm friends with all of them. We love playing with toys and running on our big open field. Do you like to run too? Or even like to walk? Because I am a great running or walking buddy. I love to be at your side! I'm super loyal like that. Do you like getting kisses? Because "give me kiss" is one of my favorite tricks! I learned it really fast too. I also know sit, lay down, shake either paw, jump-up and dance, go to bed and to wait command for my food (but I don’t like waiting for food so much). And I'm only getting started, I can learn a lot more tricks with you. Some things scare me though, and I get nervous around new people. It can take me a little time and a few slow introductions to get over my fear, and once I do I am the biggest, most goofy cuddle bug! Do you want to help me get over my fears and go on lots of walks together? Email my friend Joshua at JoshuaHTRescue@gmail.com to find out more about me and how you can make me part of your family. LOCATION: Foster ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Joshua ADOPTION FEE: INCLUDES spay/neuter and microchip. **Ask me about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, training and other discounts! ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 70 lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: Friendly with other dogs, good greetings on walks and with scheduled doggy play dates. His first greeting with a new dog friend he can be a little nervous, but warms up well with a friendly dog. KNOWN WITH CATS: Goofy is very cat-friendly!! His previous home, he lived with three cats. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Goofy has not had issues with kids but has not lived with them before KNOWN COMMANDS: Goofy reportedly knows sit, come, paw, and down. He is also working on a Place cue. This may shift in a new home and command reinforcement may be needed! KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Goofy is very comfortable using pee pads and will go outside if it is a quite space. He is crate trained. KNOWN LIKES: Goofy LOVES to run outside! KNOWN DISLIKES: Goofy does not like swimming/water but is OK getting a reluctant bath. He does not like being left alone for too too long, but what dog does!! He does well in a crate for a responsible amount of time. HT ADOPTION INCLUSIONS: Spay/Neuter First 3 distemper series vaccines & de-wormings Microchip - lifetime with no registration fees Current on heartworm preventative Current on flea/tick preventative EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free first exam with: Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) Free online workshop with a professional dog trainer at Fur-Get Me Not within the first 30 days of adopting (in DC/Arlington/Alexandria only) A portion of EVERY ADOOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program.

IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. ***Aspen is Heartworm Positive and will require treatment which will be paid for by Canines & Kitties Rescue at a participating vet partner*** Meet Aspen! Aspen is about 1 year old and weighs about 32 lbs. We think she is a Cattle Dog/Husky Mix (just a guess). Aspen has been a great mom to her 5 puppies and now it is time for them all to find their forever homes. Aspen will require an experienced adopter. Aspen is a shy and timid dog who will take time to warm up to a new home. She is great with the resident dogs in her foster home and will require another young and playful dog in her forever home. Aspen would do best with children 7 years and up. Loud noises and unpredictable movements startle her. Aspen is quite energetic and very smart. Aspen is still settling into life in a home and when startled she does look for an "out". She will quickly run and hide but will then relax when she sees there is no danger. Aspen will need another young, confident and playful dog in her forever home to help build her confidence. Aspen will be is spayed on January 19th, she is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Aspen's heartworm treatment will begin in February. The Adoption Fee is $375.00 ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Here's what Atticus's current family shares about him: Atticus is a very sweet pup with energy and enthusiasm to spare! He loves to run and would make an excellent running/hiking partner. He also loves playing with other dogs that match his energy. Atticus is still young and still learning. We've been working hard with him on his manners (including basic obedience training and a 2 week doggie training camp) and he is improving week after week, but he would really thrive with owners who can devote time to work with him very regularly. We have two small children at home, and that has not been a great fit for Atticus. He is still learning boundaries, and while the children don't seem to phase him and he has never shown any aggression towards them, he doesn't seem to know his own size. Atticus LOVES playing with dogs, and has done very well at doggie daycare. We want to find Atticus a home where he can really get his energy out. He is a lot of fun and with attention and a bit more training, he would be a wonderful companion for the right family. Questions About this Animal?
