I adopted Zuko in February, he was 2 month when i adopted him and he is 8 months now and I didn't anticipate that my work and school and medical appointment would get in the way of being home enough to take care of him. I adopted him to be my comfort and my baby since I can't have children and I have schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and with my school career about to take off, I'm not able to be available for him for play time and on my off days I have mandatory appointments that cause me to be home even longer than my work days, with my deepest worries I'm afraid that he's become anxious and has separation anxiety from me being gone, I have tried getting him a sitter but that hasn't been working, I just feel he needs someone that'll be home all the time and be able to play and spend time with him as much as I want and he needs.

Story
Luke came from a rural shelter where he was surrendered.  He is 8 yrs old and has been chained most of his life- he has a permanent bald ring around his neck from the chain.  Despite that, he is a sweet boy who is learning to be an inside dog.  He is learning to calm himself by going into his crate when he feels overwhelmed.  He has taken a great liking to his foster dad and will get into his lap to calm himself.  Luke will be starting heart worm treatment soon and will be available at the end of the treatment.  He needs a 6 ft privacy fenced and a family with older respectful kids as he can be too much for little ones when he gets the zoomies.  We don't think he would be good with cats because he shows too much interest in those outside.  He needs a family who is willing to be patient with him and show him what a loving family is and one who will always take good care of him.  If you are looking for a sweet boy who desperately wants to be part of someone's family and are willing to be patient and love him unconditionally, please contact Rainbow Rescue at :  rainbowanimalrescueva@gmail.com or call at 757-472-1583October 5, 2026, 5:25 pm

Maui is a good natured typical husky personality. He is moderately trained but not really under voice command. He is good on a leash and great with kids. He is energetic and loves to run, and needs to almost daily. Maui definitely needs someone who knows about huskies as his new owner. He does not make too much noise, does not bark much except to engage you to play. He also does NOT howl, he doesn't really seem to know how, so that is actually a plus on the noise aspect of a husky!
