Story
My name is Bella Mia and as you can see, I am a beautiful golden girl that smiles and welcomes everyone I meet with an open heart of friendship.  I am a German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix that is obviously going to be large and just bigger to love.  They say I was born around February 11, 2023 and for sure I am still very much a puppy even though I weigh 76 pounds.  They whisper behind my back and say that “she is a very smart girl” and that makes me want to be even smarter.  I try to keep my sweet personality showing out there 24/7 even though I am competing for attention from my other large and in charge siblings.  I am learning things but my foster family is busy and they are just maintaining good care for me and my large siblings.  I have energy to burn and I need a fenced yard to run in and someone that will focus on teaching me.  I need a loving and training oriented family who loves to bring a dog from A to Z status.  I survived a very tough start in life and am one of 12 siblings.  Only six of us survived.  I like fun, lots of activity and the hustle and bustle of family.  I need a fenced yard that is 6 ft. tall and it would be best to have me with children who are over 8 years of age because of my large exuberant size.  I am a well-rounded girl that will make your home much more Fun and loving.  If you are interested in making me a part of your life, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 25, 2024, 5:58 pm

Story
Easy Ryder is like his name, an 'easy'  two year old German Shepherd boy that would love to join Peter Fonda on a motorcycle ride.  This boy loves to go, go, go and he's a ton of fun and a super  playful boy.  He is good with children, other dogs, but no cats unfortunately.  He’s a great car “rider”, loves his walks, and he loves hiking into the mountains.  He’s 70 pounds of all muscle, great health and good hips.  No issues whatsoever with health or dog habits and is UTD on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, HW prevention. He’s one healthy lover of a dog. Please contact ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  He's in Tennessee but can transport north.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 25, 2024, 5:58 pm

Story
Active Axel is a handsome golden male German Shepherd/ Great Pyrenees mix who was born on February 11th, 2023 and is still a puppy in every way. He is one of six siblings that survived from a litter of 12. Our guy Axel weighs approximately 90 lbs, and is very GSD smart loving to be next to his humans.  This huge puppy is full of energy and he will fit perfectly in a home where there is a lot of activity, a fenced yard and people who love the BIG DOGS! He really likes walking, hiking, and just a ton of fun with activity. He also loves water and treats the water trough as his own personal spa. We recommend a home with a fence that is a minimum of 5 feet tall.   We do not suggest he go to a home with small children, or farm animals simply because he has no experience with them.  He hangs with his siblings and does well playing with them and also just enjoying their company.  He does need to eat separately for dinner as he protects his food from the other dogs due to early starvation. Handsome Axel is fully vetted, neutered and microchipped and he is kennel and crate trained for quiet time.  This boy needs some time and attention from a caring and dog savvy owner.  He would love to cuddle with you and be your adored companion.  He has such potential…..such love and such a need to grow and evolve into a fine companion in life.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in this big baby!  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 25, 2024, 5:58 pm

Story
We are 5 1/ hrs west of VA Beach. We can transport 1/2 way for $100 or we can transport to VA Beach for $200. This will cover just my gas with today's high gas prices. You are welcome to drive to us in Mt.Airy, NC to pick up. Transport is on hold due to vehicle issues. Sheldon came from a local shelter. They were over full and he was in danger of being euthanized. He is a german shepherd mix. The vet said he is around 2 years old( as of 6-22-23). He is a tall lanky dog, around 65 to 70 pounds. He is a sweet boy and very affectionate. He needs a home with room to run. He is energetic and would need an adopter who can embrace it. He will make THE BEST hiking buddy ever. He likes water to. He would be best in a home where he can be the only dog. If he can't be an only dog he needs a home with a large breed submissive female. He would also do well with puppies. He is doing well with crate training and house training. He will go to his new home current on vaccines, testing, preventives, neutered and microchipped. He will receive a complete physical by our vet prior to going home. He will also be issued a certificate of Health. The adopter will get all the health records with adoption. We require a pre screen application to adopt. You can get that on our website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Story
Our pets are ALL fostered and physically located in Mt.Airy, North Carolina until adopted. That is 5 1/2 hrs west of Va Beach. Normally we have transport available to VA Beach for $200 or 1/2 way delivery for $100.00. Transport is temporarily on hold due to vehicle issues. You are welcome to drive to us. Hansel came in with his sister Gretel. Hansel was in pretty bad shape when he ended up at the shelter He had a leg injury and he was emaciated. He is on the right track now. His leg is healed and he is gaining weight. He is a super sweet goofy boy. The vet said he is around 2 to 4 years old but he is closer to the 2 mark he assumes. Hansel loves people. He is good with children to but due to his size and the fact he is an active dog he would be best in a home with older children. He does not like cats. He is great in the house and he is potty trained. He will even use pee pads if needed. If I had to note any "cons" about him it will be the fact he pulls hard on a leash. That is easily corrected, and he is very trainable. He loves riding in the car and will load up willingly. If you are not familiar with german shepherds please be aware they shed badly. So if you do not want to deal with hair do not apply to adopt one. I would love to keep Hansel and Gretel together if possible. I would give a discount if adopted together. Hansel would do better in a home with another large breed female if he can't go with his sister. He is neutered. had all his shots, current on heart worm testing(negative) and on preventive, and microchipped. The adopter will get all his medical records with adoption. We require an adoption application to adopt. You can get that on the website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Harley did really well in her board and train- she will need a breed savvy owner for proper handling. She likely can have friends if they are the right match- but will likely need to be an only pet.
