Story
My name is Bella Mia and as you can see, I am a beautiful golden girl that smiles and welcomes everyone I meet with an open heart of friendship.  I am a German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix that is obviously going to be large and just bigger to love.  They say I was born around February 11, 2023 and for sure I am still very much a puppy even though I weigh 76 pounds.  They whisper behind my back and say that “she is a very smart girl” and that makes me want to be even smarter.  I try to keep my sweet personality showing out there 24/7 even though I am competing for attention from my other large and in charge siblings.  I am learning things but my foster family is busy and they are just maintaining good care for me and my large siblings.  I have energy to burn and I need a fenced yard to run in and someone that will focus on teaching me.  I need a loving and training oriented family who loves to bring a dog from A to Z status.  I survived a very tough start in life and am one of 12 siblings.  Only six of us survived.  I like fun, lots of activity and the hustle and bustle of family.  I need a fenced yard that is 6 ft. tall and it would be best to have me with children who are over 8 years of age because of my large exuberant size.  I am a well-rounded girl that will make your home much more Fun and loving.  If you are interested in making me a part of your life, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 26, 2024, 2:09 pm

Harley did really well in her board and train- she will need a breed savvy owner for proper handling. She likely can have friends if they are the right match- but will likely need to be an only pet.

Story
Meet Arnold! Arnold is all the way from Louisiana waiting to find his perfect match. Arnold is very timid and sensitive to touch so we are asking kids in the home be 10 and older as well as a required meet and greet with any canine residents. We do highly recommend Arnold go to a single style family home as he is a larger dog who will need lots of space to acclimate to his new surroundings! If you are a first time dog owner Arnold will ask that you keep looking as he needs someone who has some experience with canines. If you have questions please speak with a kennel technician.

Story
BRUTUS - 11 months old, house trained, dog social, very nervous with strangers, head & neck sensitive. Only a baby, Brutus is really nervous in the shelter. He startles easily. He backs away from strangers. He doesn’t trust what he doesn’t know. It took a few tries before I was able to get him out for a walk where I was able to see more of what I’m sure is closer to his true personality.  *Brutus is inquisitive and playful.  *He can be trusted in a home alone roaming free. He’s also crate trained though.  *He sleeps on the couch or on the floor most evenings.  *Brutus is afraid of vacuums and brooms.  *In his previous home he was friendly with the children (ages 6-12) but also would avoid them.  *Brutus is known to guard his food bowl so management if this will be very important. *Brutus will need some time to adjust to new people and a new routine. Go slow. Give him space. Once he trusts you, you’ll be set. *Brutus is currently in a back kennel so if you don’t see him, please just ask!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:48 pm

Story
X-LARGE AND IN CHARGE!    JACKSON is a 6-year-old easy- 80+pound-boy, house trained and kid/cat/dog social. He was abandoned by his owner.  I was a bit nervous when I first saw him bc he is commanding behind those cage bars. He is big. He is fluffy which makes him bigger. I found out quickly he is a nice boy who just wanted out of the cage. In the yard he sniffed and when I held up a rope I saw that excited side of him! Let me tell you he is even bigger when he jumps right next to you going after a toy!   *Jackson can be trusted alone in a home but also seems crate trained.    *He enjoys the water and is very playful.    *He doesn't discriminate in toys, either, as he loves plush toys, tug toys, frisbees and balls.    *Jackson might be nervous around adult males, especially being protective of the females and children.    *This big boy sometimes forgets how big he is so be ready when he gets excited.    *Jackson is currently in a back kennel so if you don't see him, please just ask.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:48 pm

Story
SLADE - 7 years old, over 100 pounds, adult home only, no other pets, heartworm positive, but shelter is starting treatment.         *He is a big boy who will need an experienced owner.              *He has his quirks and we're going to disclose them right now.                  *He gravitates towards one person and is slow to warm up to others.                      *He has shown signs of guarding toys and food and is nervous with loud noises and vacuums.    Slade is also loving and protective.      *He is smart and learns quickly.          *He enjoys attention and petting from his person.             *Slade is house trained although he has had accidents when given human food.                 *Slade loves to go for walks and he will definitely turn a few heads with his shepherd gait and long fluffy fur.                      *Slade is playful but can be vocal when playing.   Please do your research on gsd's before considering this boy.    If you are experienced with the breed and looking for a new buddy, come on out to meet him.      *He is currently in a back kennel so if you don't see him, please just ask.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 26, 2024, 12:48 pm
