Story
Meet Cubby – Your Adventure Buddy and Best Friend! Breed: Husky Mix | Age: 2.5 years | Weight: 50 lbs Cubby is a stunning Husky mix with soulful eyes and a heart of gold. After being rescued from an overcrowded backyard situation, this sweet boy has blossomed in foster care and is now ready to find his forever family.   Cubby has discovered the joys of life—walks, playtime, snuggles, and, most of all, people! He’s affectionate, smart, and always seems to be trying to understand everything around him with those expressive eyes. He’s especially great with children and loves being part of a family.   An energetic and athletic pup, Cubby thrives on adventure. He loves long walks, hiking, backpacking, playing fetch, running beside a bike, and splashing in the water. If you lead an active lifestyle, Cubby might just be your perfect match. And when the day is done? He’s happy to chill on his dog bed, content just being near his people.   Cubby currently lives with two other dogs and absolutely loves playing with them. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and another dog buddy—or as your one-and-only if he gets plenty of exercise and enrichment.   Cubby is not just a dog—he’s a loyal companion, hiking partner, and forever friend who will bring joy, laughter, and love to your life. All he needs is a family who will give him the active, loving home he deserves.    Fostered in Tennessee   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 15, 2025, 6:39 pm

Story
Pashia – A Once-in-a-Lifetime Dog Looking for Her Person    There are dogs who come and go in our lives... and then there are dogs like Pashia — the kind of soul who doesn’t just enter your world, she changes it.  At 2 years old and 55 pounds, Pashia is a breathtaking blue-eyed Husky with a quiet strength and a heart that speaks volumes once it trusts you. She’s not just looking for a home — she’s looking for her person. Someone who sees beyond the pretty face and into the smart, loyal, sensitive spirit that lies beneath.  This girl has so much love to give, but she doesn’t give it away to just anyone — and that’s what makes it so special. Once Pashia chooses you, it’s for keeps. She will be your shadow on the trails, your snuggle buddy during movie nights, your calm presence on quiet mornings. The bond you build with her won’t be just another pet relationship — it will be deep, soulful, and unforgettable. Pashia is beautifully balanced — playful and silly with her toys (she treasures them and never destroys them), yet calm and observant when the day winds down. She loves sitting by a window or glass door, just watching the world — as if taking it all in with a quiet kind of wisdom. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps soundly through the night. She walks well on leash and enjoys slow strolls where she can take in the sights, scents, and sounds of nature.  She’s a work of art in motion — elegant and athletic — and would thrive with someone who wants a partner for outdoor adventures. But more than anything, she wants a heart to anchor to.  Because of her past, she takes time to trust, and she’s selective with some dogs — especially those with dominant personalities. She’s done well with older or submissive male dogs and could also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only. She just needs a home that’s calm, structured, and full of love. Someone who understands that earning the affection of a dog like Pashia isn’t instant — but is entirely worth the wait.  Pashia has grown so much and overcome so many quiet battles. Now, she’s ready to settle into a life where she can feel safe, loved, and understood. If you’re someone who doesn’t just want a dog, but wants one to be 'your' dog — the kind of companion who looks into your eyes and just gets you — then Pashia may be the one you've been waiting for. &#226&#156&#168 Give her the fairytale ending she deserves. Email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to meet Pashia. Because once she lets you into her heart… you’ll wonder how you ever lived without her.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comSeptember 4, 2025, 4:22 pm

Story
Meet Snowbell &#226&#157&#132&#239&#184&#143 SNOWBELL - 1-5 years old, 35 pounds, sweet by shy, nervous in new situations   Stunning Snowbell is a sweet young girl with the body almost like a fox, light tan fur, straight up ears and a sit that is commanding!   She is smart, knows several commands, and is really really treat motivated!   Snowbell is looking to be the only pet in an adult home.    She can be very nervous at first and slow and proper introductions to new people is importnat.   Once she trusts you, her affectionate, gentle and silly sides shine through.   The first thing she did in the yard was some fantastic zoomies! She made me dizzy with all the running in circles! Silly girl!   Snowbell would benefit from continued daily training (get her mind moving!) and daily exercise and play time (get her body moving!)   She might push some buttons as she can act puppy-like so please be ready for some understanding and patience as she gets accustomed to her new house, family and routine.   With time, love, and understanding, Snowbell will be the most loyal companion you could ask for.  Snowbell is currently in a back kennel so if you come in to meet her and don't see her, please just ask.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 27, 2025, 9:36 am

Story
LUCIAN - 1-5 years old, 45 pounds, nervous at first, needs time to warm up to you Lucian and Niles arrived at VBACAC as strays. They both are mostly white with tall ears that flop over at the tips. They both had collars and leashes attached when found. They had a home, that's for sure. Beautiful healthy-looking active pups, each about 1-5 years young, and not reclaimed. Lucian and Niles are husky type dogs who have tons of energy. Right now they are nervous and barky behind the cage bars but when you open the door, they back off. I was easily able to leash each one and walk outside. Lucian sat for treats in a stately manner and ate them normally. Both pups were hesitant to let me pet them so I didn't push that. Time will allow them to get used to me (and you!) and then I know they will show their true playful and silly sides. Lucian showed me some silliness when he kept putting his paws on the barrel to get my leash and then the water bucket. Def a silly boy! We don't know how they feel about other dogs, besides each other, but we will update when we learn more.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 29, 2025, 10:49 am

Story
Foster Update! "So far they are settling in nicely. We have learned A LOT in a short amount of time! Nova was definitely the alpha of the 2 of them, and she has tried to retain that status with our dog, but when corrected she does well. She really wants to establish dominance with him, but I don't let her snarl at him and she doesn't get mad about it, she just gives me the pouty look and lays down. Nova is definitely a toy lover and will do anything to get to a squeaker. She is a bit territorial over toys, but it steadily gets better as the time goes on. They are both potty trained, though they won't necessarily let you know they have to potty, we've just had to follow Harley's cues (she starts sniffing around a lot).  They both have a good prey drive.  They slept downstairs together last night (they are not a huge fan of stairs, Nova managed but Harley struggled a lot, so they ended up just coming back downstairs) and did fine. We set up our camera so we could check on them periodically and they slept the entire night in the same spot. Nova slept on the couch and Harley slept in the bed we got her. Harley can get a bit snippy with Nova over food. There was a little scuffle yesterday between her and Nova but they calmed down quickly and we just opted to feed them separately. They are both VERY food motivated. Outside of Nova making sure our dog knows who's boss, which isn't a huge deal, they are both doing very well with having another dog in their pack. Harley kinda just minds her own and chills unless she thinks we might be getting food and Nova does about the same unless she is playing with toys. Harley pees a lot more when she is stressed out. She had multiple accidents last night after getting home, but she seems to be doing much better today."   HARLEY & NOVA - 10 & 11 years old respectively, 80-90 pounds, kid/cat/dog social, house trained, playful Harley & Nova were surrendered when their owner passed away and family members could not take them. They have been together for 7 years now and are now searching for a family willing to take them both into retirement.  They are both good with kids, cats and dogs although Nova has some resource guarding tendencies with food towards small dogs. We always recommend keeping food and toys separate between animals. Harley and Nova are typical vocal huskies especially when left alone.  Don't leave the doors open either or these two amusing adventurers might take that as a sign to venture out. Harley is known to be the calm, relaxed, easy going girl, while her sister Nova is a more hyper, energetic, playful girl. We introduced them to our shelter playgroup dogs and they had a blast once they had met everyone. We saw that playful side of Nova where she chased, play bowed, and did gentle wrestling with another dog.  Harley hung out more or less, walking around sniffing, lying down, sitting, giving me great smiles to capture in photos. They both are known to steal objects from countertops, too. Silly girls! If you are ready for two big girls, come on in to meet them! They are in a back kennel waiting for meet and greets so just ask to meet them! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 14, 2025, 10:14 am
