Hi human,I am Viego. I love food and I love human.Oh did I say that already? I LOVE FOOD.My current family was fostering me after my rescue but they decided to keep me for 2 years instead of rehoming me immediately. What can I say? I guess I am just too good a boy. They do not want to see me go but they have another baby on the way and will be relocating to a city with less ground I can run around on.I’m a country boy from Conrath, WI, and I don’t think I’ll like city life.Like many German shepherds, I can be alert around other dogs first, but I am a gentle giant at heart.My family did not get to train me much besides basic obedience training due to their busy schedule but I am very trainable.I know basic obedience training, i am house trained and crate trained, I will need more leash training. Other than that, ask my owner about more!Can’t wait to meet you!

Story
Kona is a 50 lb GSD mix who loves to play at the dog park, catch frisbees and play ball. Kona loves people. She is great in the home, never mischievous. She matches her energy with what is going on at home. If her human is working, she will sleep or entertain herself. Kona looks to please, is smart, and easy to train. She has excellent focus. She is very active, and I typically walk 5-7 miles a day with her because I live in a condo without a yard, and no dog park nearby. I am working so cannot get to a dog park every day. I am rehoming her because walking her for exercise has become too difficult as I age. I have fallen too many times when she lunges for a rabbit or squirrel, and I feel that I am no longer safe being leashed to her for walks, despite working with 4 different trainers over time. She would be best in a home with lots of activity, especially on a farm or rural area, with lots of outdoor space not requiring a leash. She cannot live with cats.

At first, Starry can be a little shy as he takes in new people and surroundings. Give him a little time, though, and you'll discover a sweet, affectionate puppy who loves nothing more than snuggling up after a fun play session. Whether he's romping around with his siblings or tossing his favorite toys in the air, Starry knows how to make the most of puppyhood. Starry has done well with other dogs, children, and even cats, making him a great candidate for a variety of homes. Like any young puppy, he's still learning the basics, including crate training and good manners, but he's a smart boy who is eager to learn and making progress every day. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will grow alongside your family, Starry is ready to brighten your life with love, laughter, and plenty of puppy snuggles! All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough.
