Story
Meet Florence, a lovely senior Husky who’s ready to step into the pampered life she’s always deserved. This sweet old lady hasn’t had the easiest past, and her beautiful Husky coat hasn’t been given the care it needs—but that’s all about to change. Florence is gentle, dignified, and full of quiet charm. With a little TLC, some good grooming, and a cozy place to rest, we know she’ll blossom into the stunning, lively girl she was always meant to be. She’s ready to leave her rough days behind and enjoy her golden years in comfort, surrounded by love. If you have a soft spot for seniors and a heart big enough to give Florence the second chance she deserves, she’ll reward you with loyalty, warmth, and plenty of soulful Husky smiles. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. Story
Hello! I'm a 2.5 year old husky/border collie mix named Obi (yes, like the Jedi)! Obi was adopted by me a few months ago from a previous owner where he was kept in a kennel for up to 10 hours a day. He is potty trained, knows tricks like "sit" and "shake", and can even free-roam the house for up to 6 hours a day alone! He adores other dogs, and gets along with every house guest I've introduced him too! It's absolutely breaking my heart to rehome him, but over the last couple months it's come to my attention that Obi is not a fan of cars or bikes. I live in the heart of Madison, and plan on staying here for the future, so my tiny yard and busy street are just not suited to his needs. Obi spends most of his day napping or keeping himself entertained with his toys. He only chews his own stuff, and he free-range feeds from his bowl when he's hungry. I'll also provide the crate, toys, treats. Obi would be the be the perfect movie buddy or best friend for your current dog.

*****Versie is a member of our Lonely Hearts Club and her adoption fee has been reduced to $200*****Hi, I’m Versi—short for Verstovia, like the mountain in Alaska! With my fluffy coat, strong build, and grand presence, I definitely live up to my name. I’m a big girl (about 100 lbs!) with a heart just as big. I’m a mix of Husky, Shepherd, Great Pyrenees, and a little Mastiff—which means I’ve got smarts, strength, and a deep love for people all wrapped into one majestic package.I’m six years old and have spent the last three years with a family who loves me. I’m house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and well-behaved at the vet and groomer—especially if there are belly rubs involved! I love to hang out in the same room as my people, or toss my ball around in the bedroom. When I get sleepy, I’ll tuck myself into bed like the good girl I am.I’m sweet, loving, and playful—but I’m also a bit of a queen bee when it comes to other dogs. I’ve been living with another big dog for a few years now, but it’s become clear that I’d really thrive as the only pet in a home. I want all the food, toys, and attention for myself (can you blame me?), and I get stressed when I have to share. I also get a little overexcited when I see dogs through the window or on a walk, so I’d do best with someone who can help me stay calm and confident in those moments.I’m looking for a home where I can shine solo—somewhere with lots of love, some cozy spaces, and maybe a ball or two. If you’ve got a big heart and a spot in your life for a mountain-sized snuggle buddy, I just might be your girl. Please just ask at the Adoption Center to meet me, because I have a quieter kennel at the shelter where the public can`t see me.Medical History: Versie is a healthy adult dog, but it would be a good idea to get her in with her new vet soon after adoption so they can get to know each other!Weight: ~ 100 lbsHome Preferences: No other dogs, would like to go home with teens or olderAdoption Fee: $200 + TaxIf you`d like to meet me, click the `Learn About the Adoption Process` button below to plan a visit to the shelter!

Hi, I’m Daisy! I’m a sweet, snuggly Husky girl with a big heart and an even bigger personality. I love adventures, cuddles, and singing the occasional Husky song—just to keep things interesting!Car rides are my favorite—I’ll hop right in, settle down with the wind in my fur, and enjoy the ride with a big smile on my face. I also make an amazing hiking or running buddy. I stay right by your side with loose, graceful steps, and I’m always ready for the next trail or jogging route. After our outing? I’ll be your sunshine nap partner and happily snuggle up for some quiet time. (I may even fall asleep on top of you—just saying.)I’ve met people of all ages and I love making new friends. I’m working on my leash manners and learning quickly—especially when treats and praise are involved! Like most Huskies, I can be a little vocal, so I’d do best in a home that doesn’t mind my chatty side (no apartments for me, please).I’ve lived with another dog before and may do well with the right match, but I like to be the center of attention and can get a little possessive over toys. I’ll need slow, thoughtful introductions if there’s another dog in the home—and no cats, please. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, high-energy companion who’s always up for an adventure and a snuggle, I’d love to meet you!Weight: about 50 lbsMedical: I am a healthy adult dog, but it is always a good idea to introduce me to my new veterinarian when you take me home, so I can meet the doctor who will help you keep me healthy and strong!Adoption Fee: $375 + Tax

Story
Serenity, also known as CiciHuskyFemale5 years oldGood with dogs and very shy of peopleCici was a surrender from an Amish farmer that the state closed down due to neglect and bad conditions. She was used for breed purposes only. We believe she had at least 8 litters. Cici needs a home with another playful pup, and a fenced-in yard is a must.Cici has a heart condition, and because of that, she can not be spayed. There is a surgery to correct it, but their is a high chance she may not make it through the procedure. We have decided to let her live out her days, and we want her to have the very best. Cici is very sweet but is shy of people petting her. This girl has not 1 mean bone in her body. She is a dog that loves to lay in front of a door and soak up the warm sun. She is currently being fostered with lots of other dogs and small kids.apply at wbdr.org
