Story
Carl had a rough start in life and, like many outdoor kittens used to fending for themselves, came into foster care as the spiciest little guy in the litter. Since learning to trust, relax, and finally enjoy being a kitten, it’s hard to believe he’s the same kitten we rescued a few weeks ago. He is really starting to come out of his shell, and we can tell this guy is going to be the most AMAZING cat. Carl is absolutely full of personality and is always making everyone laugh. While he might look like just another cute kitten, he is technically always "smiling" for the camera. Whether that's actually a smile is up for debate, but Carl spends about 90% of his day with his tiny little teeth showing or his tongue sticking out. He is a true goofball and a rescue favorite! Carl is a playful kitten and loves bouncing through the house with his toys and running around with his foster siblings. He is incredibly gentle with the adult cats in the house and plays just as gently with his people. He has zero concept of personal space and loves climbing up next to you, gently head-butting your face while purring up a storm. He adores pets, head scratches, and cuddles, and when play time is over and he’s in the mood to be held, he turns into a complete little ragdoll. He is still shaking off a little bit of the fight-or-flight instinct he developed while surviving outside as a tiny baby. If you walk toward him too quickly, his first instinct might be to dart away. But if you slow down and give him a second to realize it's you, he'll happily come right over for some pets. Carl has come so far in such a short amount of time, and we know his confidence is only going to continue growing. Carl would be a wonderful fit for just about any family, but while he's still building his confidence, we think he'd do best in a home with adults or older children who understand that trust takes a little time. Carl currently lives with a cat-friendly Husky and is still a little hissy with him. With a little time, we think he'd come around just fine to other cat-friendly dogs. He absolutely loves other cats and would be thrilled to have a feline friend in his forever home.
