Story
Hi there… I’m Boss Man!
And yes, I know, I’m very, very adorable. You can tell just by looking at me. I didn’t always live the good life. I came to the sanctuary as part of the “Glencoe” cats, after spending my days outside fighting for food and shelter. When I first arrived, I was pretty scared… and honestly, I wasn’t impressed with the humans at all. I even earned my name by being the Boss of the ISO room, telling everyone to go away and mind their business! But guess what? Humans grew on me. Turns out they’re pretty great. They give pets (which feel amazing), lots of love, and, most importantly, tasty lickable treats. Those treats were the key to my heart, and they’ll be the key to helping me feel comfortable in my new home too. I’ll need a family who understands that I’ll hide at first and take some time to adjust. Please be patient with me, once I trust you, you’ll see what a sweet, loving guy I really am. I absolutely love other cats. Snuggling with them, playing with them, sharing cozy naps… a feline friend is a must for me. I’m playful, always zooming around with toys, and I especially go wild for catnip bananas and catnip toys. Pure joy. These days, I even enjoy greeting visitors, especially if they come bearing treats. From tough outdoor boss to luxury-loving sweetheart, I’ve come a long way. If you think you could be my patient, loving forever human, come meet me. You can visit me daily from 1–5pm… I’ll be the adorable guy waiting for treats and pets. I have excellent litter box habits. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat. I am fully vetted: neutered, microchipped, FIV & FeLV negative, treated for fleas/ticks/and intestinal parasites, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I even had a dental recently, so all my teeth are clean. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing. Story
Hi there… Pinto here. I know, I know… it’s hard not to stare at my face. I’ve been told I have literally the cutest face ever. And these big squishy cheeks? They’re kind of my signature look. Honestly, they were made for gentle cheek squishes and lots of pets. Now I’ll be honest… I might be a tiny bit shy when we first meet. New people can make a big orange guy like me a little nervous. But give me just a moment, start petting me, and I promise you’ll see the real Pinto. I turn into a total ooey-gooey lovebug. Before you know it I’ll be melting into your hand, rolling over for belly rubs, and making the best air biscuits you’ve ever seen. I’m a pretty easygoing guy. I love hanging out up high on the cat trees here at the sanctuary where I can watch everything going on. It’s the purrfect spot for a cozy nap… which I am very talented at. I also get along great with the other cats, so I wouldn’t mind having a feline buddy in my new home. What I really want though… is a person of my very own. Someone to share quiet moments, soft pets, and lots of snuggly naps with. I think I’d make a pretty great buddy. Don’t you? You can come meet me daily from 1–5 PM. I’ll be the handsome orange guy with the squishy cheeks waiting for you. I am fully vetted: neutered, microchipped, FIV & FeLV negative, treated for fleas/ticks/and intestinal parasites, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing. Story
Hello… my name is Felicity. Some people say my coat looks like a little masterpiece. I’m kind of like a dilute tortie… but with extra splashes and swirls mixed in, like an artist couldn’t decide when to stop painting. I like to think it makes me one of a kind. My story didn’t start out so pretty though. I came from a large outdoor colony called the Glencoe cats. Life out there was hard. There wasn’t anyone making sure we had food, warm beds, or safe places to sleep. Every day was a struggle to survive. We fought for meals, braved the cold weather, and tried our best to stay safe. By the time I was live trapped and brought to the sanctuary, my body had many wounds and I was very tired. But then something wonderful happened. The Furball team and their amazing veterinarian took care of me. They cleaned my wounds, gave me the TLC I desperately needed, and for the first time in a long time… I felt safe. I’ll be honest though, I didn’t trust humans right away. It took a lot of food, patience, time, and love before I realized they were my friends. Because of that, my new family will need to understand something important about me:
I will be scared at first. I will hide while I figure things out. My transition into your home won’t happen overnight. But I promise you… I am worth the wait. Once I feel safe, I’m a very sweet girl. I love gentle head scratches, especially when I’m all cozy and sleepy. I adore basking in the sunshine, rolling in catnip, and getting the zoomies while playing and scratching on cat posts. I’m also a pretty clever girl. At the sanctuary we have treat dispensers, and I’ve learned exactly where they are. You’ll often find me hanging out nearby… patiently waiting and watching in hopes that someone will press the button and send treats my way. It’s one of my favorite pastimes! Oh… and I’m a huge fan of visitors, especially the kind who bring lickable treats. Those are my weakness. I also absolutely love other cats. Snuggling up with a feline friend on a warm heating pad is one of my favorite things in the world, so I would do best in a home with another kitty companion. And just so you know, I recently had a dental, so my teeth are now sparkling clean and ready for snack time. If you think you might be the patient, loving family who will give a shy girl like me the time she deserves, I would love to meet you. You can come visit me every day from 1–5 PM. Maybe you’ll be the one I’ve been waiting for. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat. I am fully vetted: spayed, microchipped, FIV & FeLV negative, treated for fleas/ticks/and intestinal parasites, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations: distemper, rabies, and FeLV. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing.
