Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Groot — a playful spirit in a big, lovable body! Groot may look like a grown-up, but he’s got the heart of a kitten. He lives for toys—especially crinkly ones he can bat across the floor or proudly carry in his mouth (like in this video!). When he’s not playing, you’ll find him lounging like a pro or curiously watching the world around him (check out this video of Groot happily making biscuits). Originally found as a stray in Tennessee during hurricane season, Groot weathered flooding and shelter life before making his way to Minnesota. Despite everything he’s been through, he’s remained affectionate in his own unique way. Groot is a people-loving cat, but he’s not a lap cat and may never be. He prefers affection on his terms and doesn’t like being picked up or touched on his back legs or paws—likely due to his joint issues. He has hip dysplasia and arthritis, so he needs a calm, low-activity home with minimal stairs. He takes joint supplements and Metacam to stay comfortable and keep enjoying life. He’s good with other cats. If you’re looking for a sweet, quirky cat who will keep you company, make you smile, and thrive in a mellow home, Groot might be your guy. Apply today to meet this special boy!   If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hey there, I'm Bunny. I'm about five months old and, while it's kind of embarrassing, I came into rescue after someone claimed they found me and my siblings in a dumpster. I know - gross. In my defense, after she met me, my foster mom didn't think I ever actually lived in a dumpster because I was just so clean, and beautiful, and well-behaved around humans. Honestly, whatever though - I'm just glad I'm in a home, and am really hopeful I'll find a new one soon.   So, I said I came in with my siblings, right? I have two - Hare and Hopper. We are all different, and honestly, I'm the coolest of the bunch. My foster mom says I'm the most independent and I think that's true. I don't spend a ton of time with them, but I will say I enjoy the company of other cats, so it'd be great if there was one in my forever home. I currently live with a dog (ugh!), young children, my siblings, and my foster family's cats. I don't dislike any of them, but like the cats the most aside from my foster mom. I really like my foster mom. (It could just be because she tells me all the time I'm really beautiful, and I think that's just sweet as pie. I hope my new family tells me how beautiful I am too!)   Oh, another thing to note, I guess... my foster mom also says that having another cat friend in my new home is important because of something called "Tarzan syndrome". That makes me sound like I could turn into a bit of a neanderthal, but I guess it makes sense that the longer I'm exposed to another cat, the more I will learn how to be a nice cat to others. So, you should probably look into this if you haven't. My foster mom does know a lot.   While I totally love my foster family, it'd probably be best if I found a forever home. I'm wondering if you'd be a good fit? I think you would, at least if you're looking for a beautiful little lady. Because that's me. I'm the best!   Bunny is from a local impound. We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 21, 2025, 9:05 am
