Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This kitty definitely thinks he’s the man in charge! He loves his food and can’t resist snuggling into a cozy basket or box. While he’s still a little guarded with new people, he’s making great progress and learning to trust more every day. With patience and love, he’s sure to blossom into an even more affectionate companion.     Chandler was found as a stray. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 11, 2025, 8:36 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Merlin is a sweet senior with so much love left to give. For 13 years, he lived his entire life with his owner, who recently moved into assisted living and, unfortunately, could no longer care for him. After spending some time in a relative’s home—where he had to be separated from a kitty who didn’t care for him—Merlin is now overjoyed to be snuggled up with his foster parents. He’s full of purrs, full of rubs, and full of love. And don’t be fooled—13 is the new 2! Merlin wants nothing more than to be your best friend. Won’t you give him a chance? If you do, he just might show you a few of his wizard tricks! Merlin is from an owner surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
