Story
Quinn - Female DOB 4/7/2021 Domestic Short Hair - Calico Quinn is an affectionate cat, but is also an independent and thoughtful cat who may need a little time to adjust.  She ended up in a southern shelter after losing her longtime home when her person passed away. Once she feels secure, she becomes very affectionate and loves attention, especially if it’s paired with gentle brushing. She prefers a peaceful environment and would do best as the only pet in the home. She’s not a fan of dogs or children and would thrive in a quiet home with someone who will give her the time and patience she needs to come out of her shell. Quinn likes to be around people, and prefers to hang out nearby, and not necessarily on your lap.  She loves head rubs and will also allow belly rubs when she's feeling especially lovey.  She loves to have an audience while she eats—she’ll eat more and seem happier when someone’s near, gently petting her and talking softly. A sunny spot by a window and a cozy place to curl up would make all her dreams come true!  Once she feels safe and happy, she loves to roll over and get continuous pets. Quinn is a great companion, but also with her independent side, does not need someone home all day to give her constant attention.  She has been on a low daily dose of Prozac which she takes easily in her food due primarily from stress of being around other cats.  When she is separated from all the other cats, she's much more happy and loving of pets which will keep her much more happy. Story
Lou - Female DOB 11/10/2023 Domestic Short Hair - Tabico - Tabby/Calico Mix Travis and Lou — yes, Lou is a girl — became close friends after ending up in the same foster home down south. Since then they’ve been buddies who like to stick together. They often cuddle up with each other, but even when they’re not, being in the same room helps them feel more comfortable and settled. Travis is a handsome tabby boy with the kind of eyes that tend to win people over quickly. Lou has beautiful mixed tabby and calico coloring, often called a “tabico,” and she’s just as lovely in her own quiet way.  Travis loves to chase after ping pong balls. Between the two of them, Travis is the more outgoing one and will likely settle into a new home faster. Lou is much more shy and will need time and patience while she learns to trust. She can still be a little nervous when a hand reaches toward her, but if you approach slowly under her chin, she starts to understand that pets are a good thing. They would both do best in a quiet home with no dogs and no children where they can adjust at their own pace. They are fine with other cats, but having each other nearby is what helps them feel the most secure. Travis will likely be the first to say hello, while Lou watches and learns. Together, they help each other feel brave.
