Story
Gene and Zeke are a bonded pair of one-year-old brothers with sleek black coats and even sweeter personalities. These two came into the shelter at the beginning of March battling a severe upper respiratory infection, but with care, patience, and plenty of love, they’ve made a full recovery and are ready to start the next chapter of their lives, together.Originally part of a feral colony, Gene and Zeke got a second chance when a kind caretaker brought them indoors so they could receive the medical attention they needed. Since then, they’ve discovered just how wonderful indoor life can be, and they’re not looking back. For their safety and wellbeing, they will need to remain indoor-only cats.Despite their rough start, these boys are incredibly sweet and affectionate. They love being held close, soaking up attention, and quietly admiring the world around them. Their curious nature means they enjoy exploring their surroundings, but they’re just as happy curled up with their people.Gene and Zeke get along well with other cats, though their experience with dogs is unknown. As with any new pet introduction, a slow and carefully monitored approach is essential to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable.Like many animals transitioning into a new home, they may need a little time to fully adjust, but with patience and understanding, their loving personalities will shine through. If you’re looking for a gentle, devoted duo to share your home and heart, Gene and Zeke might just be your perfect match.
We'll also keep you updated on Zeke's adoption status with email updates.
