Meet Atari, a handsome 1½-year-old buff and white tabby who’s learning that the world can be a pretty kind place.Atari came to the shelter through animal control in a feral trap as part of a colony, but it didn’t take long to see that he isn’t feral at all, just a sensitive guy who needed some time to feel safe. He’s still a bit nervous, but once he settles, he truly enjoys gentle pets and quiet companionship. One of his favorite confidence boosters? Other cats! When he met the office cat, Tux, Atari immediately started meowing and greeting him, so we strongly recommend a home with at least one friendly feline to help him continue coming out of his shell.We’re not sure how Atari feels about dogs, as they aren’t allowed in the same area, but any introductions to new pets should always be slow, patient, and closely supervised to make sure everyone feels secure.
