Story
Rice Crispies is a beautiful 8-week old female Tortoiseshell kitten who was brought to the HSOV on January 13, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found her on State Route 676 in the Marietta Ohio area. This little sweetheart has a dark brown/black short-haired coat with cream/orange markings, a long tail, and an adorable kitten face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers. Rice Crispies was listed as a Special Needs Kitten when she arrived at HSOV since her left hind leg was broken with bone protruding through the skin. She was examined by one of our wonderful local veterinarians who gave us hope that her leg could be saved. Rice Crispies weighed 2 lbs when she arrived on January 13th. Rice Crispies was given vaccinations on January 20, 2026 along with Albon & Pyrantel wormer and antibiotics, She was given booster vaccines on February 3rd and February 17th 2026. Fortunately for Rice Crispies, one of our compassionate HSOV feline kennel techs took her home as a medical foster in early March 2026. Rice Crispies' medical condition steadily improved, and she began walking/bearing weight on her left hind leg. Rice Crispies was officially adopted by her foster mother on August 2nd 2026 which was the best outcome for this little dollbaby.

Story
Quiche is a beautiful female kitten who was brought to the HSOV on May 12th 2026 along with her mother (Tart) and her two brothers (Pot Pie and Shepherds Pie). Unfortunately the individual(s) who left this little family and entrusted them to our care did not provide any information about them. Quiche, Pot Pie and Shepherds Pie were tiny 6- week old babies at that time. Their mother Tart was a beautiful gray tabby with a sweet, super-friendly personality, and she was a wonderful mother to her three kittens. The kittens were separated from their mother after they were fully weaned. Quiche and her brothers have remained together in a double-wide cage, and they have never been separated. Quiche has a brown tabby short-haired coat, a long ringed tail, and an adorable kitten face with golden eyes, a brown velvet nose, a dusting of white on her muzzle, and long white whiskers. Quiche was given vaccinations and Pyrantel wormer on May 19th 2026, and she was given booster vaccines on June 3rd and June 27th 2026. Quiche weighed 2.2 lbs on June 27th and is the smallest of her siblings. This little lovebug is the ultimate 'playgirl' and takes her playtime seriously. Quiche was so intently chasing a tiny (toy) mouse around their double-wide cage during one of her photo sessions and couldn't be bothered to look at the camera (smile). Quiche is a social butterfly with a fun-loving, outgoing personality and loves to engage with people and her brothers. We've also included a few of Quiche's baby pictures which were taken during the month of May 2026. Quiche will be spayed in the near future and will soon be ready to find a fabulous home (preferably with a playmate). Quiche was spayed on August 3, 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 3.7 lbs that day.

Story
Yeti is a handsome 6-year old male kitty who was brought to the HSOV on March 11, 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found him on Florence Street in Belpre Ohio. Yeti was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped. Yeti has a snow white short-haired coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. Yeti was given vaccinations and Pyrantel dewormer on March 12, 2026. He weighed 9.1 lbs that day. Yeti was given booster vaccines on March 31, 2026. This sweet boy has a quiet, easygoing personality and loves attention. Yeti was examined by one of our local veterinarians on March 24th and was diagnosed as being diabetic, so he is being listed as a ‘Special Needs Kitty’ for that reason. Yeti has been given daily insulin injections and is doing very well thanks to his veterinarian who has been monitoring dosages (and the excellent care from our HSOV Feline Kennel Techs). Yeti is currently enjoying a triple-decker cat tower in the lobby of our shelter. He is ready to find a fabulous home with an individual or family who is experienced in caring for a diabetic kitty. Yeti was already neutered when he entered our shelter, so he could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application.
