Story
He’s your standard-issue cat in the sense that he operates entirely on his own terms. He’ll cuddle you like you’re the greatest thing that’s ever happened to him… right up until the exact second he decides the moment is over and leaves without explanation. He enjoys the finer things in life: snacks, naps, sunbeams, and pretending he’s starving five minutes after eating. Thankfully, he’s civilized enough to sleep through the night instead of participating in the usual 3 a.m. Olympic sprinting event across the house. He loves his babies, adores a warm sunny spot, and has mastered the art of looking impossibly cozy at all times. Overall, he’s equal parts affectionate roommate, tiny dictator, and professional lounger, and somehow ridiculously charming while doing absolutely nothing at all. I have three boys and we have tried and tried over the years to teach them to learn a cat signals and to make sure that they show Smudge that he has their trust, but it's just not working.
