Story
Bodhi showed up at a relatives home a few months ago. He’s very intelligent and leash trained. He sits in command and will occasionally shake. He’s very loving and wants to be cuddled. He plays fetch and returns the ball or stick. He’s a happy boy but I have an older intact male and they are competing with marking their territory in the house. Because of this, I am unable to keep him. I do love him though and want him to go to a loving home!!

Story
Meet Dobby, a lovable, smart, and energetic pup who’s ready for his next big adventure! As a graduate of the Leash on Life Prison Pup Program, Dobby comes with some impressive credentials. He’s mastered his Canine Good Citizen training, acing skills like loose-leash walking and coming when called. Just beware—his hound instincts are strong, and if he catches the scent of a deer, all bets are off! This handsome Plott Hound mix weighs in at 60 pounds and is full-grown. He’s neutered, up to date on all his shots, and microchipped, ready to join his forever family. Born on 12/31/17, Dobby is a mature pup with the perfect balance of energy and relaxation. Dobby is highly food-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding for both him and his handler. He’s learned a variety of commands, including “sit,” “stay,” “come,” “heel,” “high five,” “peek-a-boo,” and even “relax.” One of his signature tricks? Giving a high-five with both paws! He loves mental stimulation and is always eager to learn new things, especially if snacks are involved. Dobby is great with all people and other dogs—they call him the “Ambassador to Dogs” and is first to greet new arrivals into the program. However, due to his hound nature, cats are a no-go. While Dobby may seem standoffish at first, he’s a cuddle bug at heart and loves snuggling up at bedtime. This loyal, intelligent, and loving dog would thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard, where he can run, explore, and sunbathe. Dobby is housetrained and accustomed to plenty of exercise, so he’ll need an active family to keep up with his adventurous spirit. He may need a little time to acclimate to new surroundings, but with patience—and a few tasty treats—he’ll settle in just fine. If you’re an outdoorsy type looking for a loyal companion to join you on your adventures, Dobby could be your perfect match! Ready to meet your new best friend? Dobby is waiting! *************************************************************************** This pet comes with an implanted 24 PetWatch microchip and free registration into the 24PetWatch pet recovery service. *************************************************************************** This dog is available for adoption at the Humane Society of McCormick County for an adoption fee. Story
Meet Franklin!! Franklin had a rough start to life, but times are a changing for this handsome boy! Backstory:  His humans moved and left Franklin along with 8 or 9 siblings - only two are known to have survived. Franklin is a testimony to the resiliency of dogs. He loves to be loved. He's submissive and adores belly rubs. His foster mom describes him as very mild tempered. We are so grateful for foster families who open their homes even when the situation isn't ideal. Their dogs aren't always welcoming to new pups, but the family is taking it slow and Franklin is handling it like a champ. He’s super loving and just wants to lay on the couch and cuddle. We doubt Franklin has ever been inside a house and was hesitant to enter. With winter bearing down on us, we’re beyond happy he is no longer living outside. Because Franklin never knew where his next meal was coming from, he's showing a little food aggression which is understandable and can be managed.  Foster mom and dad are working on potty training. Franklin goes outside frequently and has has no accidents in the house. Franklin would be fine in a household with kids & other dogs. He hasn’t been around cats. Franklin is approximately 2-3 years old and weighs around 60 lbs but is on the thin side, neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting/foster to adopt or adopting Franklin, please submit as adoption application. ##2268002##
