  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2853024##

Tala   Female   Plott Hound Mix   9 weeks (born 07/22/26)   Current weight 11 pounds.  She will be a medium sized dog when full grown.   Tala is a sweet curious puppy.  She loves to be around her people.   She loves to play with toys and plays well with her littermate.  She is just the cutest little thing when she puts her paws on your leg to let you know she wants to be picked up.  She especially likes belly rubs.   She is working on pad training in preparation for regular outdoor potty training.  She will need continued training in her new home.  She has been working on "sit" "no" and "come".      She currently sleeps all night quietly in a puppy pen and her foster mom is hopeful that will transfer over to crate training.   Tala will be available for adoption September 26th after she has been spayed, microchipped and received her 2nd round of puppy vaccinations.  She will need a 3rd & 4th set of vaccines once she is adopted.   If interested, please  complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. I used to be shy and timid, but now my tail wags and I perk up whenever I see a friendly face. I have learned that exploring the outdoors is so much fun, and I really love it when I get gentle pets and ear scratches. I have a quiet, friendly personality. Sometimes I get startled a bit by loud noises, but I`m a strong, brave girl and getting more confident every day.
