Story

Sampson is a sweet, loving boy who is looking for a patient and understanding home. He can be reactive in certain situations, particularly in the home environment, and because of this we feel it is best for him to be rehomed with someone experienced with dogs who need a little extra support. Sampson normally does very well when he takes his daily trazodone and is typically relaxed and affectionate. He enjoys being around people when he’s out of the house and has done well with our current dogs, though we are unsure how he would do with new dogs. On stressful days he may be unsure around tall children, so a calm adult household would likely be best for him. Sampson has IBD and requires a special diet, but aside from that he is a laid-back dog who loves running outside, enjoying peanut butter, chewing on bones, and getting plenty of belly rubs. He may resource guard high-value items like bones and will growl or clamp his jaw. Beneath that challenge he is an incredibly loving companion.
