Brother to Twix, Snickers is timid and sweet. Both have been waiting over a year as of Jan 2026 for their forever homes. His breed is an AI guess but he did come from the south and Plott Hounds are more common in North Carolina. He has been living in a shelter situation so housetraining probably is expected. Might already have had some training but this is unknown. Smart breed though.

Good Day, Leonardo here! I am nervous with new people, but a little patience and understanding will go a long way. I am just the most pleasant boy and I can`t wait to be someone`s forever friend, especially if that means that I get to give unlimited hugs and kisses :) I listen very well and also know basic commands! My human friends say I also walk well on a leash too! I wouldn`t mind being the only pup in your life, but I could also be okay with a super calm, chill doggie friend. I`ve never met little humans before though, so I would need to meet any kids in the home to make sure we can be friends too!*I’ve been waiting for my forever home for over 100 days, which makes me a Featured Pet! That means my adoption fee is completely waived—all I need now is the right family to take me home.*I am eligible for foster!

Meet our sweet natured boy Afton! He is now 2 year old and believed to be a bloodhound blend on the smaller side. He is fully grown at about 50 ish pounds. He is AMAZING! EXTREMELY SMART and enjoyable! He can be stubborn at times but nothing that can’t be managed, so patience is merited. Afton is well-mannered and eager to pleasefriendly happy go lucky and so darn sweet! He enjoys group play, daily pack walks, and meeting new people and dogs. Afton is amazing with dogs of all ages and sizes, cats too. He is very outgoing and amazing with children too. Afton is a follower if a dominant dog is present. He is active but not hyper and genuinely happy. Afton will make an extraordinary family dog with an active affectionate outgoing family. He has a hound-like personality. He is all heart! Basic obedience extraordinaire. He enjoys being active and learning and is extremely food and praise motivated. Afton makes training FUN! He Is a simple dog with a big heart full of love and ready to share it with everyone he meets. You will have fun with Afton. He knows how to make everyone smile, and laugh, and helps a difficult day become better. It comes naturally to him as he is very nurturing and sweet natured. Afton needs another dog in the home. He is a hound this alone makes him almost perfect. I promise you will not be disappointed. Afton is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, corona as well as rabies, de-wormed, fecal tested negative, micro-chipped, neutered, and on monthly heart-worm flea/tick prevention. Updated: 3/25/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.
