Hi, My name is Bryan and my family has a 5 year old hound mix who we need to rehome. He has become very intolerant of our 2 1/2 year old son and even pinned him to the ground and bayed at him causing a few cuts from his nails. We have contacted and talked to a few trainers and the thoughts seem to be that he sees the children under about 8-10 (size based) as other dogs and expects them to behave as dogs would. Bernie is overall very well trained other than his dislike of the kids and can run off leash on an ecollar, he is also trained on an electric fence. Bernie is currently at home with us but he is separated from the kids, while this is working short term it is not a permanent solution which is why we are looking to rehome. He is good with other dogs of similar size with proper introductions but i do not think he would do well with cats or small animals.

Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here.
