Hello there, sorry for the wait ... My name is Doc and I'm here to see YOU actually! Let's see now, you say you're experiencing the lack of a fun loving companion dog in your life? You need to get out and go on walks more? And you say here that you have a huge backyard but no one to play in it with? These symptoms lead me to believe you're suffering from INAD syndrome ... also known as "I need a dog disease." and we have JUST the cure for you!!! I am a DOC :) Well, I think I can prescribe you something that'll help reduce these symptoms and get you back on track to healthy living.... here is what one of my admirers has to say about me ;) "Doc is a super playful dude and is soo happy to meet everyone he sees and just is an overall bouncing bundle of joy. He loves walks, pets and scratches, and loves to do sprints with you. When you're walking he will walk slightly ahead of you and is super excited to meet everyone. He'll try to pull but once he realizes you are not coming too fast he will do this cute little hop thing where he bounces between his front paws and his back paws, its adorable" That is quite an admirer, right??? If you'll just go ahead and sign here on my adoption papers, we can get started right now on your treatment!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Men are from Mars :0 Remember that theory? Men from Mars and women from Venus?? So I AM MARS!! lol and I am a male!! SO MISUNDERSTOOD!! (all women rolling their eyes :) I am a big puppy... At the rescue again after being adopted in 2020!! :( I was returned by my "family" for something the rescue did before i left as a puppy- socialize me... SO, this is the thing... when you adopt a puppy especially, take the time to SOCIALIZE them all different situations and all different people and other animals.... it is your responsibility. WE committed to Mars so if his "family" gave up on him, we would not! He is back with the rescue and looking for his FOREVER HOME! Do NOT apply to adopt him if you are not committed to him, cause he deserves better!! He is a sweet and loving guy, active and BIG so must be a good leader and must keep him happy and exercised and loved!! Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
KINGSTON is big handsome brindle boy, maybe some plott hound terrier in him - who's estimated about 3. He's a sweet bigger dog who's fully vetted. (His and his brother Hugo's adoption fees are partially sponsored by someone who was interested in adopting one of the two but wasn't able to because of apartment complex size restrictions, but saw they were such sweet dogs!) He is always a favorite at events we take him to, but no takers yet. Our dog-walking volunteers also love Kingston. He's a BIG BOY at 91 lbs but is overall chill and super sweet. He's been waiting for over 2 years for one of the big-dog people to come along and take him to his forever home. He loves people, but wouldn't do well with another dog IN his house, but out and about he does fine. A foster-to-adopt is also available for Kingston or... ** He's also available as a part of our new Forever Foster program, where we can place him with an approved applicant as a member of their family at no cost, and we will cover all his vetting - regular, emergency, preventatives, vaccines - for life, as well as extra supports like transportation to appointments, and "boarding" if needed for vacations, FOR LIFE! Ask for more details.** 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. 💜 Please click PURPLE BUTTON above to apply or go to www.secondhanddogrescue.com/apply ! ✍ APPLICATION PROCESSING: We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌 IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺ADOPTION AREA: Several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3hrs IS allowed), except the young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination in order to cross the border- usually around 16 weeks).

Story
If happiness had four paws and a wagging tail, it would probably look a lot like Freddie. This handsome Heeler/Plott Hound mix (best guess!) has an easygoing personality that's just as sweet as his adorable face. Freddie is the kind of puppy who's simply thrilled to see you. Whether it's time to play, explore the backyard, or just hang out together, he's all smiles and a constantly wagging tail. When playtime rolls around, Freddie is always ready for action. Crinkly toys, squeaky toys, sturdy chew sticks that look like little branches, and snuffle mats are some of his absolute favorites. He loves romping around with his siblings and would happily spend the day turning every toy into the best game ever. After he's burned off some puppy energy, Freddie has a softer side that will melt your heart. One of his favorite things is snuggling close, gently tucking his little muzzle into your neck while soaking up all the love and attention you'll give him. Freddie absolutely adores other dogs and has never met a person he didn't want to be friends with. He's also being introduced to cats from a respectful distance and is learning that not every furry creature wants to join the puppy party. If you're looking for a happy, affectionate companion who's just as excited for adventures as he is for cuddle time, Freddie is ready to become your new best friend. Local adoption fee is $350(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)
