Story
*Hound/Labby Mix*1 yr 7 mos old; 52lbs*Friendly, loving, most chill guy! Great in the car and shopping at the local Tractor Supply Company.*Darwin was good in play group. He`s very much wishing to keep to himself but fine having other dogs coming over to introduce themselves to him. Mostly hung out on the sidelines and took in all the action. Mr Manners.  Mr Polite.  Mr Peaceful.  DARWIN is the nicest and sweetest doggy.   Found abandoned on an island in the local lake, poor guy was very confused and very depleted when he finally made his way to our facility.    He`s on the mend (mentally and physically) and now ready to meet you!   We are all reaching for this handsome, sleek jacketed fella because he went through so much and already has so much to give us in return.  Loose in our play yard area,  Darwin will slowly stroll around and scope out things but you can always count on him to come back to you and just chill near you. Darwin doesn`t have much interest in toys but does enjoy soft, all over body pets and whispered sweet nothings in his adorably speckled ears!  He`s done fine meeting dogs while out walking and seems pretty noncommittal as to his desiring their company or not.  What we know for sure is that he will seek out the humans and truly makes us all smile.  Check out our smooth operator Darwin and expect to adore this wonderful guy!!Facebook Update July 11: When the sky fell out this afternoon,  DARWIN insisted that we do something!  So what do we do?  We go to Tractor Supply Company- Of course!! Darwin is newer on the adoption floor and he is the biggest doll-cake.  This handsome fella was rescued having been dumped on one of the islands in Lake Keowee.  He was pretty thin upon arrival,  distraught and upset.   He`s 1000% pulled himself together and is the biggest softie- very mild mannered and kind to the core!   Hopping right up into my car for our journey,  he was comfortable and ready to ride.   Darwin was a natural as he shopped the TSC aisles while beautifully greeting staff and customers.  Very soft and docile and calmly sidling up to everyone, he was the perfect ambassador to represent the dogs under our care. Now back on site, Darwin is hoping you`ll call on him when we reopen Monday at 10am.  Note:  1 yr old; 50lbs. Plott Hound Mix.  Not very interested in other dogs and will shy away from them.

Story
*Plotthound*8 mos old; 23lbs (very thin)*Very sweet, kind, polite, loving girl. Dog social. Mom is Petunia. `She`s adorable.` `Oh, my goodness.  I love her.  So kind and gentle and snuggly plus.`  `Friendly and welcoming,  I love her slender little frame and more pointy nose.`  `She`s so cute and a favorite of mine.  She`s easy to walk and she kisses me a lot.`   Just a few notes of endorsement on our prettiest of brindle girls PANSY!  Pansy is super sweet, kind, very gentle in her ways and so easy going and mild mannered.  She led a more challenging lifestyle and arrived very waiflike.    She`s made herself at home and her chin is up, she`s adding some pounds to her frame and she`s ready for you!  She`s a bit meek/overwhelmed (for now) in play groups but she`s definitely dog social.   We feel she`ll rise to the occasion and get into the play group mode as we continue to include her in this enriching program.  Here with her mom PETUNIA,  she is the spitting image of her and truly,  the apple has not fallen far from her momma as Petunia has the same incredible, gentle vibe as well.  Come see Pansy and while you`re at it, Mom Petunia.

Meet Marmalade! This sweet senior girl is looking for that special someone to give her a new life, and teach her that she can be in the world as a confident queen! She needs to be loved on and spoiled so much that she forgets what life was like when she was shy! She was found abandoned and afraid, with too many ribs showing! We are working on getting her fattened up and comfortable. She is starting to gain a lot of confidence with the shelter staff, and likes chin scratchies, peanut butter and lots of treats! If you`re looking for a tall and slender, brindle beauty queen, then look no further than Marmalade! Come meet her soon @ Anderson County PAWS! Open M, T, Th, F, S 12pm-5pm

www.pet-tender.com/adoptionform.htm    Mumu is proof that the best things in life are worth waiting for! This gentle, mellow soul has a heart of gold and a wonderfully quiet nature—plus a playful side that comes alive once she knows she's safe. To help her put her best paw forward, Mumu needs a home with dog-savvy humans who are ready to give her the love, patience, and decompression space she needs to blossom. A confident resident dog would also be a massive plus to show her the ropes and share in her playful moments! Mumu isn't an "add to cart and go" kind of pup; she is a project of love. If you aren't ready to dedicate the time and patience she needs to settle in, she won't be the right fit. But if you are ready to open your heart and do the work, this spectacular girl will reward you tenfold. We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here. July 16, 2026, 4:13 pm

Story
Daniel was found as a puppy frozen to the ground in NC. Out in the country left to die! His Angel vetted him back to health and kept him safe and happy until she passed away herself a month ago! Daniel is an EXCEPTIONAL Hound and needs to go to a Hound Experienced home! He walks great on a lead for a hound, and he is perfect in a car for rides. He LOVES everyone he meets as he is always the Master of the Parade :) It took him about 2 weeks to settle into his Foster Home after the loss of his mother. Patience and Love is what he needs. He is not a fly by the seat of your pants kind of dude. He needs structure. He needs to know what time to get up and do so at the same time every day! He has to have a solid routine, and he will be HAPPY as a CLAM! His Howl meter is a 5 on a scale of 1-10! He only speaks when he needs to :) He will go into a crate but does not like it! ONCE he is used to a routine he can be left at home alone without being confined in a crate! The perfect Home is a home where ONE parent is HOME! No small screaming kids! He will try to herd them and at 70 pounds that is an accident waiting to happen. A child raised with hounds will be perfect! If you wish to learn more about Daniel, send an application and we will call you to answer any questions you will have ") Danielk is healthy and fully vetted! He is Neutered and chipped! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you meet the above qualifications and you think you can be my perfect home, please continue reading----Do not send an e-mail unless you have read all the way to the bottom of this Page 1. Once we speak to you and feel you are a good fit, we will set up a meet and greet 4. Once we meet and do a home visit we can then and only then finalize an adoption. Every member of your household must be present for this meeting 5. We do adopt out of state and will do a home visit out of state as well 6. We will not put our dogs on mass transport or hand off transport to get to your home. .it is your responsibility to pick her up. We will make every effort to meet you part of the way but that is not always possible. 7. All animals in your house MUST be spayed/neutered unless you have medical documentation preventing you from doing so. NO EXCEPTIONS. 8.
