Story
Meet our Wicked babies! This crew has quite the story, so get your tissues ready. Born in the middle of the hurricane Helene, just east of Nashville…this boys mama kept him and his siblings safe under a pile of wood until she could find help. When the weather let up, she went to find a human…and walked that human to her babies for help. From there, one of our favorite partner organizations Flying Pig Sanctuary, stepped in and took in mama a babies to keep them warm and safe…just in time before the hillside caught on fire. While we don’t know exactly what they are, we believe they are lab/hound mixes. They are smart but will require someone willing to work with them on training- or else they will do what lab puppies like to do…get into trouble! :). They have all be exposed to children, other dogs and cats. They will do great with an active person or family who is ready to add excitement, energy and love into their home! We have been working hard on crate and house training as well as leash walking with these pups and they are getting a solid B+. Their adoption fee is $325. They will be fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed and on preventative. If you think Fiyero is a fit for you, apply today! Please note that we are a completely volunteer run organization and may take 48 hours to respond. Please make sure to fully complete your application. If responses are not complete, you may not be contacted due to the volume of applications. We can only set up meet and greets once an application has been approved. Thank you for understanding. Story
Waylon is an absolute DREAM of a dog, really just the perfect boy! He does great with kids, does amazing in a home, is housebroken, crate trained, does great in a car, LOVES to be active and play and go on both runs and walks with his fosters, is super smart so easy to train, loves to snuggle and will calmly hang out with you while you work or watch TV, and is just the best boy! He seems really eager to be around other dogs so we don't see why he couldn't have dog buddies to play with! He is 100% joy and will be excited to see you every time you come home...and his fosters are working on trying to temper that pure joy that causes him to jump in happiness, but it always comes from a place of love and light! The struggles that Waylon has are purely medical but we have come to a plateau where with a great regimen of his medications, his diagnosis of Perennial Fistula Disease is easy to manage. And the nice thing is he takes his medications great! He does have to have an ointment on his rear, and does take some other oral meds, but he takes them very well. His condition also does require him to be on a very regimented diet that cannot be strayed from but Bonaparte's Retreat is more than happy to continue paying for his meds and his food because we definitely don't want that to be a deterrent for this perfect boy to find a home. He does require someone who can monitor his poops because they do need to be monitored, but he poops great on a walk which makes it easy to monitor! He also does need to be with a family that can strictly monitor his diet and not allow him to counter surf but he eats his special food great! We really can't speak more highly about Waylon and he would make some active family or single person an amazing BFFAugust 27, 2024, 11:44 am

Story
Let it go, let it gooooooo ...Can't hold it back anymore ... Yes, my name is Elsa, just like that Elsa! I came into this world in February, right in the middle of a chilly San Antonio winter when the temps were plummeting, and life was tough for many. But fate smiled upon me, and a kind-hearted man and his family came to my rescue, sparing me from the freezing cold. I'll be honest; I'm a sensitive soul. Loud voices and sudden noises tend to rattle me, but let me tell you, once I've warmed up to you, I'm a different dog entirely. I'll shower you with kisses and share my whole heart. You see, I'm not just pretty on the outside; I'm smart and gentle, too. What I need most is a patient family willing to give me the time and space to settle into my new home. Trust me; I have so much love to give. In my foster home, they've discovered a side of me that shines when I play with their Big Great Pyrenees. We're like a couple of kids, playing hide and seek, and chasing each other around. I'm also a sunbather at heart, so outdoor lounging in the sun is a favorite pastime of mine. Now, here's the thing: I'm not a fan of long car rides, and I can get a little nervous. But if you speak to me gently and reassure me, I'll find my courage. Leash walks can be a bit tricky too, but with your patience and encouragement, I'm willing to give it a try. In the evenings, I like to cozy up in bed with my humans, though I don't demand it. I just love to be near the ones who care for me. I'm on the lookout for a forever home, a place where I'll be cherished and appreciated just as much as I have been in my foster family. If you're seeking a loyal companion who's ready to bloom with your love, look no further - I'm right here. Story
Goober is a kind old soul. He's a social loving buddy. He likes kids attention, he'll say hi to anyone big, small, young, old, male, female, there is NO LIMIT to his love :) He's also good with cats and gets along with other dogs regardless of size or gender. I mean, what else can you ask for?? We must admit he is a little shy at first with big dogs but once they say hi, he's ready to play tag. He is good on leash and enjoys walks at sunset(in S Texas that is the coolest part of the day). He knows a few commands like sit, stop, stay, and go. He has never shown aggression of any type. He doesn't guard food nor toys. This is what his foster mom says about Goober, "He'll make you laugh in sadness, console you in grief or simply keep you company in happy or quiet times. He wants nothing more than to be your best friend and confidante!! He is kind of like a Golden BOY!!" Adopt this kind and quiet soul and give him a couch to hang on and a lap to keep warm!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
