Story
Say hello to Jake! Young Jake was picked up as a stray along with his sister in the spring of 2025 and was adopted later that summer. He was sadly returned to the shelter by being dumped in the front yard on a cold wet December night. Poor Jake doesn't understand why he's back in a kennel and is most distraught about his situation, but who can blame him? This beautiful brindle boy has done nothing wrong and yet is currently the longest staying resident at our shelter and it's simply breaking his heart (and ours). Day-after-day he waits anxiously for his new family to choose him. Jake's signature characteristics are his speckled tongue and his kangaroo hops in the yard (quite endearing, if we do say so ourselves)! He is also a volunteer favorite to take out on trips about town and to adoption events (he loves car ride and the trips to the beach!) He truly is the goodest boy! Jake is desperately hoping for his second chance home where he will be cherished and loved the way he deserves! Come meet Jake and find a friend for life!

Story
Mission: Woof Pack Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit working to improve the health, welfare, and safety of Houston's dogs. Our organization was started by one dog mom on a mission to help those animals in need. Our goal is to find loving homes for abandoned, lost, forgotten or mistreated dogs from the streets of Houston and surrounding areas. Currently being fostered in Houston, Tx with transport available out of state. Penny is an adorable, quirky little girl, about 18 months old, originally found in the middle of an esplanade on a busy street and made it across to the neighborhood side and huddled against the outside of a fence, terrified. We thought she had been spayed already, as she had a scar on her belly. Her ear was either bitten or snipped and she was/is missing some of the fur on her side. Since we originally had to board her, we soon found out, she was not spayed as she went into heat at the vet. The vet and all who have examined her agree, her scar was from having a c-section as she had definitely had at least one litter of puppies, possibly used to breed for the beautiful brindle coat she has. She is - hw negative, -spayed, - UTD on all vaccinations. - She is good with all the other dogs, small and larger. - she loves to be around people and her favorite yoga position is the "sploot". - she loves to lay with her belly flat on the floor and back legs straight out and somehow, she will move backwards in that position without seeming to move anything. - She has a very unique cross between a howl and coo. Don't be fooled by her small size, she's a sturdy girl and her head can scooch thru a slightly open door to go in the backyard before you know it. - She's a toy destroyer, so heavy chewer toys only or you'll find tufts of toy guts everywhere! But she saves the squeaker for you. She is a beautiful girl, her markings are like a tigress, and she has a beautiful heart that you can see when she looks at you with her big brown eyes. A furever home with a fur-friend for her to play with would be great, or she would be content hanging out near you while you work. **Penny is available to transport to Austin or out of state, preferably northern states.

Story
This is Trace- and although he came in a skinny and scared stray- he is one of the bravest dogs staff have ever met. This sweetheart warms up to anyone immediately - and automatically goes for a lap or a hug with a kiss. Trace is slowly fattening up- and munches his treats heartily. His mission in life is to be with you- and will guard you with his heart and all his might. Hello there the adoption fee is $20.00 CASH OR CHECK it is low as we do not spay/neuter our animals or vaccinate as we do not have a vet on site. Upon adoption you would sign a legal contract stating that within sixty days you will get them sterilized and vaccinated per state requirement. Sometimes due to age or complications the 60 day window can be extended however only by a vets discretion. Your contract is not fulfilled and your adoption of the pet cannot be successfully closed until proof of sterilization and vaccination is provided to us from the adopter. You may come to the shelter any day of the week between 8 am and 4:30 pm, just please give us a call beforehand to let us know you are coming at 281 291 5644. Thank you!

Story
Spirit appears to be some sort of Shepherd, Plotthound mix. He is a sweet boy up to date on all of his shots and chipped. No food aggression towards other animals or humans. He currently lives with another male and a female dog and two female and one male cat. He shows no aggression towards cats unless they are aggressive with him he grooms two of our cats. He is good with stairs and house trained. He sleeps on a dog bed in our room. He is not kennel trained and does not like kennels. He was adopted almost two years ago but my son has adverse reaction to him. He loves to be brushed and also enjoys vacuum brushes. He loves to run and play so a yard would be good. He also loves to cuddle. We are not asking for an adoption fee and he would come with his bed, food bowl, collar and shot records. We just want him to have a good happy home.
