Story
If you’re a sucker for blue eyes… you might want to brace yourself. Allow us to introduce, Romeo Darling. The striking, heart-melting, unfairly handsome boy with the most captivating blue eyes and a coat so unique people stop mid-walk to stare. He doesn’t just turn heads, he steals hearts. And the best part? His personality somehow outshines even his looks. Charming, dog-friendly, family-approved, and packed with that easygoing good-boy energy, Romeo Darling is the kind of dog people instantly fall for. One look at him and you’ll get it. This isn’t just a good dog. This is the dog.
Watch his video and be prepared to say yes because that is what will happen: https://youtu.be/jrfhLTyfYQo?si=zpdmEoyi8P8ZZJGm
We always say that we can’t guarantee breed or age but for Romeo Darling, we actually can guarantee his breed! His amazing fosters did a DNA test on him because they were so curious about what makes him so perfect and so cute! Romeo’s test results came back to be 23% American Pit Bull Terrier, 20% Catahoula Leopard Dog, 14% Siberian Husky, and 4% Labrador Retriever. A perfect blend of everything that makes him so special.
He is estimated to be around 7 months old (that is still an estimate on our end) and for most young pups his age, basically act like toddlers (if we’re being honest LOL). They are testing out boundaries, have a ton of energy, etc. Not Jojo though! He actually has a pretty relaxed demeanor and is so mellow! Of course, he still has some energy, he's not a total couch potato (unless you want him to be because he will absolutely be a total couch guy if you want) but he is more mature than most 7 month old pups we’ve ever met.
Romeo is super dog friendly and has gotten along great with every dog we have introduced him to. He’s been with super dominant males, dominant females, really shy and shut-down dogs, dogs that like to roughhouse and play chase, and even dogs that prefer to just hang out and do their own thing and he’s been a perfect prince with them all. He does great meeting dogs on leash and is equally comfortable meeting dogs off leash as well. Romeo truly loves making new friends and already has wonderful social skills.
He’s very good at matching the energy of the other dogs around him. If play is invited, he’s ready. If it’s time to relax, he’s happy to lounge. He shares affection easily, shows no jealousy, and is comfortable sharing treats around other dogs too. He’s just a sweet baby with the most easygoing, go-with-the-flow personality. While we’d love to see him in a home with another playful pup, he would be completely content as your one and only as well.
Romeo also met our house cat, Biggie, and handled the introduction beautifully. He was respectful and appropriate, did not chase Biggie, and wasn’t bothered by typical cat antics like jumping around or doing their own thing. Biggie felt comfortable around him too. We don’t know if Romeo has ever lived in a home with a cat before, as this was our first time seeing him with one. If you have a cat at home, we’re happy to arrange a kitty sleepover upon request, just let us know!
Romeo is already such a well-mannered boy and, according to his foster, has wonderful house manners. He walks nicely on a leash and even does great tandem walking next to another dog. Pack walk superstar in the making! He already knows a couple of basic commands, including sit, and is incredibly gentle when taking treats. He loves treats, is eager to please, and has shown he’s a smart little guy. The perfect trifecta for any additional training you may want to do in the future and it will be such a fun bonding experience for you both. Romeo is crate trained and fully potty trained. His foster reports he hasn’t had a single accident in the house and has never even hinted at trying. What a gentleman!
Romeo would thrive in a home with a backyard where he can stretch his legs, romp around, play with his toys, and soak up the sunshine. He also has the potential to do well in an apartment or condo setting with proper exercise and socialization. He doesn’t need much, a nice long walk to the park, a game of fetch, or some fun mental stimulation at home would make him more than happy.
Truthfully though, he is just as content being a full-on couch potato. So prepare yourself for lazy Sunday movie marathons and plenty of snuggles, because that’s absolutely on the agenda. He enjoys little adventures too, just be prepared to get stopped everywhere you go because he is that stinking cute. Romeo truly is the best of both worlds. Romeo would also make a wonderful family dog. He is currently being fostered in a home with two children, ages 5 and 11, and does fantastic with them.
We are willing to test Romeo Darling with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
