Story
Xena is a 3-year-old Plott Hound mix weighing 52 pounds. A delightful girl, she came to us from a family who didn't want her or her ten puppy litter. How sad! But of course that's where we came in. Xena's foster says she is sweet, affectionate, playful, great with other dogs and very food motivated. (Better keep a box of bones around the house!) This girl who has been treated for heartworm would make a great addition to your family! "You can read more about Xena's story here: https://www.crossingpathsanimalrescue.org/rescue-stories/mom-knows-best (posted 11/1/25, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **January 17, 2026, 5:30 pm

Story
Current Location: Catonsville, MD Meet Sallie: A Playful, Curious Girl Sallie is a playful, affectionate girl with balanced energy who would make a great family dog! She's playful, loves to learn tricks and be rewarded with treats, and mellows out several times throughout the day. She's very curious and silly in the most endearing ways. She forgets about all her other toys when she plays with one, so every so often she remembers she has more and gets excited all over again. When she runs to fetch a toy, she forgets you're there and then turns around to greet you like you've been gone all day. It's absolutely adorable! Energy and Play Sallie has balanced energy. She enjoys playtime, walks, and stimulation but settles well when it's time to relax. She's content with chewing on toys and going on walks where she gets to sniff around and burn some energy. She doesn't necessarily need a fenced yard, making her adaptable to various living situations. So far, she's proven to be apartment friendly! Social Butterfly Sallie is good with cats, dogs, kids, and new people, showing her friendly, adaptable nature. She's very affectionate and loves being around her people. Smart and Eager to Learn Sallie was quick to learn simple tricks like sit and shake, and commands like "no" and "down." She's highly food and praise motivated, making training sessions fun and rewarding. She responds well to corrections on walks and is working on leash training. Aside from the occasional accident, she uses pee pads very well. Time and Attention Needs Sallie gets a little antsy when no one's in the room with her, sometimes pacing or whining, but overall she seems to understand that someone will be back soon. If she's going to be alone for longer periods, she can be crated with only a little bit of pushback and whining depending on how tired she is. Sallie does need someone with a lifestyle that allows her to spend quality time with people and go out several times a day. . She thrives on interaction, companionship, and regular activity. Best Home Fit Sallie would do wonderfully in a home with people who can give her the time and attention she needs, ideally with kids or another dog to keep her company. She's playful, curious, silly, and affectionate - the complete package for an active household ready to embrace her goofy personality and help her continue learning and growing. If you're looking for a curious, loving companion who will greet you like you've been gone forever even if it's only been five minutes, Sallie is waiting to meet you! Apply today!

Story
Meet Diesel, a handsome Plott Hound mix with a big, beefy build and an even bigger heart for the people he loves. While his exact mix is unknown (some guess Great Dane or Boxer), what is clear is that he bonds deeply with his humans. In a calm, adult-only home, Diesel is incredibly loving, cuddly, and devoted. He thrives on close companionship, enjoys being near his people, and is naturally protective in a gentle, loyal way. He is vocal and expressive—he likes to “talk” and let you know how he is feeling, which is part of his charm once you understand him. Recent life changes, including the arrival of a baby, have proven overwhelming for him, and we want to ensure everyone’s safety and happiness. He would do best in a quiet home with experienced adult owners and no small children, other dogs, or cats—where he can relax and truly be himself again. This decision comes from love, not lack of it. Our hope is to find him a peaceful home where he can feel cherished for the sweet dog he is.
