Georgie came to us from Maui. He was already in their shelter before the fires started, so we know he doesn't have a family looking for him. When you adopt Georgie, his adoption fee will go to support Maui Humane Society. Georgie appears to be an English Pointer, all pointers are known for their energy and "ready to go!" attitude and Georgie is just that! Georgie would love to join an active family - 5 mile hikes - no problem, runs along side your bike - you bet, fetch, agility and Nosework in the same day - Georgie says yes please! He seems to love all the people he meets and likes dogs so much he can show signs of frustration when on leash - most dogs think leashes are silly. We've been teaching Georgie lots of skills during his stay with us, including learning to ignore dogs when he's on leash, calling away from other dogs when he's in a fenced yard, walking politely on leash, wait at doors, and so much more. He still needs to learn some basic manners, so sturdy or older children are recommended. If you love Pointer or hunting dog energy and lust for life you will love our Georgie.
