Story
Hi, I’m Stringbean! I’m a super sweet, gentle guy—especially when treats are involved (I take them very politely!). I love going on walks and exploring the big yard, where I can sniff every little detail—sniffing is definitely my favorite thing, though I’ll run around a bit too. I enjoy squeaky toys and might like a few others as well. I get along great with other dogs and kids, but cats aren’t really my thing. I’m more than ready to leave the shelter and find a loving home of my own! 🐾💛To adopt one of our animals, please visit our shelter, open Tuesday-Friday from Noon-5pm and Saturday from Noon-4pm. You may also submit an application online from our website at http://www.HelpTheAnimalsINC.com/adopt.

Story
Meet Trenton! This good boy is the whole package! He is a mixed breed, best guess English pointer/boxer mix, and no one breed is evident. He is 2-year-old medium sized (55 pound) love bug who is gentle and adores kids. He is house trained. It does not appear he has been taught basic commands, but he should be a quick learner as he learned the doggy door ropes in a single day. The crate is not his favorite. He will go in when bribed with delicious treats and sleep quietly through the night. He mimics the vibe of the house by playing when we are active and snuggling on couch when we are quiet. He also gets along with other dogs, playing or backing off at the appropriate times. As he has settled into his foster home, he has started wrestling with the alpha dog of the house. Trenton deserves someone who will shower him with attention, car rides and rounds of fetch. He is everyone’s best friend, can he be yours? Trenton is neutered and up to date on all vaccines, flea and heartworm medication.

Story
🐾 Meet Leo! 🐾 Leo is a 7.5-year-old, 80-pound Pointer mix with a heart just as big as his long legs! While we're not exactly sure what breeds make up his mix, one thing is certain—there's definitely something much larger than your average Pointer in there. This handsome guy loves having plenty of room to stretch out, especially when he's relaxing near his favorite people. Leo's superpowers include being an excellent canine companion (he gets along wonderfully with other dogs), faithfully announcing when the mail has arrived, and doubling as a personal space heater—this boy is a furnace when it comes to cuddles! Like many dogs, Leo isn't a fan of thunderstorms and feels safest tucked away in his crate during bad weather. He also currently takes a daily Prozac to help him feel more comfortable around an energetic toddler, though he lived happily without medication for his first five years in the home. Leo loves his daily walks and enjoys following every scent along the way. Spot a squirrel? Be prepared—he has a strong pull! Despite his enthusiasm, if he actually caught one, he'd probably just try to make friends, so hunting isn't exactly his calling. This smart boy is fully house-trained, knows his commands exceptionally well, and is convinced he understands English. He's mastered every treat puzzle he's been given in record time! Food is definitely the way to Leo's heart. While he has never counter-surfed or stolen food, he prefers to enjoy his meals undisturbed and may growl if someone reaches into his full food bowl, so his family should simply respect his mealtime space. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate best friend who loves to snuggle, keep you warm, and be by your side, Leo is ready to fill that role. This gentle giant is looking for a family that will appreciate his sweet personality, give him room to stretch those long legs, and enjoy years of love and companionship together. Leo is fostered in the Cincinnati area. HIs adoption fee is $175.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our adoption application can be found at haydudeequine.org. Meet Smee! Ahoy! I'm Smee, and just like my namesake from Peter Pan, I'm on the hunt for my very own Captain Hook... except I'm hoping mine comes with treats, belly rubs, and a forever home! Born in November 2025 and weighing around 70 pounds, I'm a big, goofy puppy with the sweetest heart. People say I look like a little cow—not just because of my adorable black-and-white markings, but because I'm built like one too! My size might be impressive, but I'm really just a gentle giant who wants to be close to my people. If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I LOVE water. Kiddie pools, stock tanks, puddles—you name it! My favorite pastime is climbing into a water tank, sinking down until I'm completely submerged, and leaving just my eyes above the surface like a little alligator. It's guaranteed to make you laugh. When I'm not making a splash, you'll usually find me carrying around a toy or convincing someone to play a game of tug-of-war. I get along great with other dogs and love having canine friends, but if you ask me what I love most, the answer is easy: people. I'm the definition of a loyal companion. I'll happily rest my big head on your shoulder or in your lap, soaking up all the love you're willing to give. Even though I'm still a puppy (which means I have the occasional silly puppy moment), I'm surprisingly laid-back and easygoing. I'm also working hard on my potty training, and I'm doing a fantastic job! I'm eager to learn and even more eager to make my family proud. If you're looking for a happy, affectionate, water-loving best friend with a heart as big as he is, then I just might be your perfect first mate. All I need now is a family to call my own. Could you be the Captain Hook I've been searching for?
