Story
Meet Sherman, a sweet, mellow guy who is showing us just how wonderful he is in a home! Sherman recently settled into a foster home, where his foster family describes him as a “gentle bean.” He can be a little shy while getting comfortable with new people, but once he feels safe, he’s incredibly affectionate and loves being close to his humans. His foster family is seeing more and more of his goofy side every day! Sherman truly enjoys the simple things: a leisurely walk, lounging outside, plenty of belly rubs, and—most importantly—a really good nap. He has a playful side, but overall, he’s a low-energy guy who is perfectly happy relaxing with his people. **Sherman’s highlights:** * Fully house-trained * Good with other dogs and has also done well as a solo dog * Had a successful cat meet * Has been sweet and gentle with children he met in foster * Does well home alone with free rein of the house * Loves belly rubs, pets, and massages * Enjoys walks and lounging outside * Mellow and low-energy * Loves a good nap! Sherman does have an old knee injury, likely a previous CCL tear. After further evaluation, surgery is now recommended. **Baypath Humane Society will be covering the cost of his surgery, which is expected to take place later this year. Ideally, Sherman will be settled into his forever home before his surgery so he can recover with his new family. His adopter will need to be able to provide him with a quiet, comfortable place to rest and follow his post-operative care instructions while he heals.** Whether it’s heading out for a walk, hanging out in the yard, or curling up for an afternoon snooze, Sherman is happiest knowing his favorite people are nearby. He’s ready to find a family of his own to love, snuggle, and show his goofy side to. **Start the process to meet Sherman today!**

Don't let the name fool you—while he’s always up for an adventure, Sporty is a mid-energy boy who’s just as happy to kick back and enjoy a quiet evening at your side. This handsome pup is looking for a loving home where he can come out of his shell and be the most loyal companion you could ever dream of.Sporty had a tough start to life and can be a little shy when meeting new people as a result. He may hang back at first and observe, but give him a few minutes to warm up and his sweet, affectionate personality will shine through. Sporty has been a rockstar with the kids he’s met, patiently welcoming their hugs and kisses! This gentle giant is even great with cats—he completely ignores them. Sporty LOVES other dogs, reading their cues well and taking comfort from their company. He would be thrilled to have a canine sibling in his new home to look up to as he gains confidence.Sporty is a smart boy and a quick learner. He is house trained (though like any dog he may need patience as he adapts to new routines). Sporty has been working hard on his crate training and is making great progress. He may whine for a few minutes after the door closes, but he sleeps in his crate overnight and will even choose to go in and hang out by himself sometimes. While Sporty doesn’t demand a ton of exercise, his favorite thing is going on long walks or runs with his trusted people. He would make an amazing walking or hiking buddy, with his quiet endurance and calm presence. If you're looking for a big, loyal, low-drama companion who will grow more devoted with every passing day, Sporty just might be your guy. What are you waiting for? Apply to meet him today! Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. Story
Peggy is a petite girl weighing a whopping 25 lbs! She is approximately 11 months old. We believe once full grown she will be around 38-40 lbs. Her siblings are all staying pretty small! This gentle girl absolutely loves other dogs; big and small. She is currently being fostered in a sanctuary in south Texas, along the Texas/Mexico border. This amazing sanctuary is only a short term stop for this fur-baby until their forever home is found. Peggy was found in January of 2026 in a cemetery with about 12+ other dogs. She was fending for herself, finding food, water and shelter where and when she could. Peggy was the smallest of the bunch, so she was probably picked on a lot more than the other doggies. Her siblings are Hulk, Nebula, Wanda, Thor and Black Widow, who are also available for adoption! She is much calmer than the other dogs at the sanctuary. Peggy likes to play, but she also likes to just sit back and watch everyone else cause trouble. She will run along side of them, with sometimes joining in the rough housing. She likes to ref the other dogs by barking at them playing. Peggy would be great for a calmer household – play in the backyard with another dog and her toys. She is working on her leash training – she is crate trained. Peggy loves playing in the water and laying in the kiddy pool, cooling off. If you want a smaller doggy to stay by your side, to cuddle with and to enjoy the nice days outside – Peggy is a wonderful choice. Peggy is fixed (spayed/neutered), heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. PLEASE READ BELOW: To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We ONLY adopt in Central US and the East Coast. We are exploring to the PNW also! The adoption fee listed ($495) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the Northeast. Transport goes to the following locations every 2-3 weeks: Albany, NY Wells, VT and Brattleboro, VT Nashua, NH Willington, CT - Stamford, CT - Dayville, CT Steubenville, OH – Cincinnati, OH – Grove City, OH Grove City, PA and Washington, PA Ridgefield, NJ and Mt Laurel, NJ Emmitsburg, MD and Elkton, MD Falls Church, VA and Glenn Allen, VA We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home. With an approved application, we do put you in touch with the Texas foster who has the doggy for you to make sure the pup is the perfect fit.
