Story
Meet Milo - Despite being hearing impaired, Milo navigates his life with grace and charm Milo is a 5 yo/50 lb smooshy Pointer mix with the cutest freckles.  He walks beautifully on a loose leash right by your side, is crate trained, and is fully potty trained. This low-energy, sleepy boy loves his naps and is the perfect companion for a relaxed lifestyle. Affectionate and cuddly, Milo adores resting his head on your knee and would be thrilled with constant physical contact. However, he’s also content to settle independently if snuggles aren’t on offer. Milo has a gentle soul and a heart full of love. He’s unbothered by noisy neighbors, thanks to his hearing impairment, and is an expert at enjoying belly rubs and lick pads. While he’s still figuring out kongs, he approaches life with a goofy charm that’s truly hard to resist. Milo is such a love and is ready to bring joy and cuddles into a forever home today ! He is fostered locally in Massachusetts - so apply today this boy needs a home please remember we are all volunteers, incomplete applications will not be processed If you are interested in adopting a GBP rescue PAL, please submit an application and we will reach out to you within 48 hours to start the approval process.  https://galsbestpal.com/adoption/ It’s ok if you don’t know exactly what you are looking for, we are experts in matchmaking and can talk with you and figure out what PAL would be a good fit for your home!  If you would like to inquire about saving a life & becoming a FOSTER HERO, please fill out an application and a FOSTER HEROES TEAM volunteer will reach out to you to go over our lifesaving foster based rescue program! https://galsbestpal.com/foster/ To learn more about our mission, and to join our mailing list go to https://galsbestpal.com/ Follow us on FB and Instagram for extra photos, updates & videos of our available dogs. Story
Falcon is quite shy and initially struggled with his leash training. However, he has learned to move with the leash, and understands he can relieve the pressure by approaching the trainer. When he is out with other dogs (not necessarily his own siblings), he displays more of his personality and shows increased interest. He initially was staying to the back of his crate, at the beginning of his training program, but has since lost the fear, and is happy to come to the door and be let out. After being abandoned by another rescue organization, and left in a boarding kennel for several months as a puppy he is now spending four weeks learning basic obedience skills with a wonderful trainer. Very loving with people and other pups!   is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you). To adopt or learn more about: , you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, visit our website: WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM ** PLEASE READ: If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet. Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort. If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM **The FIRST step in adopting an animal from our rescue is to submit a completed adoption application. **MEET ME AT OUR 7/28 ADOPTION EVENT IN WAKEFIELD**Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: NoGood with kids: Yes, dog savvy childrenCrate trained: YesHouse Trained: YesPetey is a lovable, goofy boy who is ready to be your best friend and family member! He is doing great in his current home where he is fostered with two other dogs in the home. His current foster shares that “Petey’s a good boy who’s going to make a great companion. He has a zest for life and would be the perfect adventure buddy for hikes and activities!”As he is nearing adulthood and working on his manners, his ideal home needs a patient owner who’s ready to provide him with structure and boundaries as he adjusts to his new home. Petey gets along well with dogs and plays great with dogs and continues to learn taking cues from other dogs. Because of his friendly, lively personality, he’d likely do best with dog-savvy kids in the home. He’s an active, medium-energy pup who loves to get his energy out with playtime or walks and then happily settle nearby with a bone.Petey is a smart boy who’s quickly picking up commands and would benefit from an owner excited to continue his training. He is fully crate trained and house trained. He is crated occasionally during the day and sleeps in there overnight without any issues. Petey would make a great doggy daycare candidate. He has zero accidents in the house. Petey’s leash skills are improving and will need some extra guidance as he gets acclimated to his new surroundings. Please consider this handsome boy, as he will keep you smiling with those dashing good looks! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. Story
Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: NoGood with kids: Kids 16 +Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesLilac is a sweet, lazy girl who is looking for a quiet home where she can play some fetch and then curl up in the dog bed and take a nap (her two favorite things). Lilac is wonderful with other dogs when properly introduced, and she loves to play. She would love a fenced yard to romp in. She can be leash reactive to new dogs, and though she has improved with training, this will always be something she needs to work on. For this reason, proper intros are a must with her.  She is also ecollar trained. so her perfect home would continue this training with her. She excels with structure and routine.Where Lilac still struggles greatly is with meeting new people in the home. Outside the home, and even a the vet, she is generally fine. When people that she does not know very very well come into the home, Lilac should be crated, leashed, or muzzled. She needs to be slowly introduced to new people, but once she gets to know you very very well, she's all in and is the kissiest, snuggliest girl.  She is even very sweet to pretty much everyone while muzzled, so that's an easy fix to keep her safe.  When people she does not know come into the home, she can get vocal,  but when introduced while muzzled she does fine.  Because of her reactivity to new people, a single family home is the best fit for her. She would not do well in an apartment. Lilac has had a long road, and while she has come a long way, she is very much still a work in progress. With the right family she will do just fine.Lilac's issues have happened in the past when her intros to new people coming into the home were not controlled.  So I can't emphasize enough that she needs to take it slow with new people :) But she will reward you for sure once you get to know her.Age: 9 yearsWeight: 45 lbsPlease Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted.
