Story
- Can be shy when meeting new people but comes out of his shell fairly quickly- Is not a huge fan of overhandling and snuggles. Was not handled a lot in his previous home, so is slowly getting used to being loved on by staff here at the shelter. - Would do best with an owner with patience. Once Bear gets to know you, he is your best buddy!- Huge goofball with a big personality - Very toy motivated! He loves to carry his `babies` around to show them off to his humans!- Has been house trained here in the shelter and was reportedly house trained in his previous home. When adjusting to a new home, he might need a quick refresher as he learns his new schedule.- Enjoys the great outdoors and loves nothing more than going on hikes and adventures!- Would do best in a home with an owner willing to work on training and basic obedience as he was not given a lot of instruction in his previous home- Would do best in a home setting with no shared walls, as sometimes he likes to be vocal and `sing the song of his people`!Weight: 63lbs.Dogs: PendingCats: NoKids: Teens and olderIf you are interested in more information about how to meet/adopt Bear, please reach out to kennel staff at (413) 447-7878 ext.126 or by email at canineservices@berkshirehumane.org

Don't let the name fool you—while he’s always up for an adventure, Sporty is a mid-energy boy who’s just as happy to kick back and enjoy a quiet evening at your side. This handsome pup is looking for a loving home where he can come out of his shell and be the most loyal companion you could ever dream of.Sporty had a tough start to life and can be a little shy when meeting new people as a result. He may hang back at first and observe, but give him a few minutes to warm up and his sweet, affectionate personality will shine through. Sporty has been a rockstar with the kids he’s met, patiently welcoming their hugs and kisses! This gentle giant is even great with cats—he completely ignores them. Sporty LOVES other dogs, reading their cues well and taking comfort from their company. He would be thrilled to have a canine sibling in his new home to look up to as he gains confidence.Sporty is a smart boy and a quick learner. He is house trained (though like any dog he may need patience as he adapts to new routines). Sporty has been working hard on his crate training and is making great progress. He may whine for a few minutes after the door closes, but he sleeps in his crate overnight and will even choose to go in and hang out by himself sometimes. While Sporty doesn’t demand a ton of exercise, his favorite thing is going on long walks or runs with his trusted people. He would make an amazing walking or hiking buddy, with his quiet endurance and calm presence. If you're looking for a big, loyal, low-drama companion who will grow more devoted with every passing day, Sporty just might be your guy. What are you waiting for? Apply to meet him today! Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. Story
Meet Sherman! 🐾❤️ Sherman has been loving life in foster, and the more time he has to settle in, the more his sweet personality shines! Once he settles in, he’s an affectionate cuddle bug who loves belly rubs, scratches, and sleeping in bed with his people. Sherman can be a lazy boy at times, and is often found lounging on the bed, but don’t let that fool you, he also loves to play, and occasionally gets the zoomies! He’s smart and food motivated — he quickly figured out a food puzzles and loves lick mats. We think he’d have a blast learning tricks with his forever family. Bonus, he is fully house trained, and lets you know when he needs to go out by heading toward the door. Like many young dogs, Sherman has some puppy behaviors, like trying to play with items that are not toys. Fortunately, he responds well to redirection with toys, and yummy treats! A fenced yard would be ideal for Sherman so he can safely run and explore. He would do best with a family willing to be patient as he continues coming out of his shell, and ideally one that is home more often to give him the love, attention, enrichment, and guidance he deserves. Give this sweet boy a little time, and you’ll discover just how special he is! ❤️🐶 🌟 Sherman does have an old knee injury, likely a previous CCL tear. After further evaluation with our vet partners, surgery is now recommended. Baypath Humane Society will be covering the cost of his surgery, which is expected to take place later this year once he has had a chance to settle into his forever home.
