**Meet Birdie Bean!** This sweet young English Pointer mix (and yes, her name is Birdie for a reason!) is as lovable as she is playful. Weighing in at 38 pounds, Birdie is already potty trained, crate trained, and has a ton of energy to burn. She’s a fetch enthusiast and will happily chase after anything you throw—though she’s still working on bringing it back every time! She's great on a leash and can entertain herself for hours in a fenced yard. Birdie is a social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs, whether big or small. She warms up to everyone very quickly, especially when she realizes you're her new best friend. She would also be great with older kids. Birdie is smart, affectionate, and sweet. She’s got a laid-back side too — if you let her, she’d happily curl up next to you for hours. This brave little pup was found on Christmas Eve on a cold and rainy night in Texas. She was found abandoned by a boat with fireworks going off nearby. She was so scared that she jumped right into her foster’s EV, ready to find safety and love! Since then, she’s blossomed into a happy, affectionate companion who can’t wait to find her forever family. Meet Sarge, a medium-sized pointer mix who made the long trip from Alabama in search of a fresh start and a family of his own. He’s playful, silly, and wonderfully smart—the kind of dog who keeps you laughing and on your toes. Sarge loves chasing toys and then proudly parading them around the yard for everyone to admire. Once he’s had his fill of fun and exercise, he turns into a total cuddle bug who’s happiest snuggled up with his people. He’s an active guy who will thrive with regular physical and mental activity. Because he was found as a stray, we don’t have much history on his past, but his southern shelter noted that he did well with other dogs. If you have a resident dog, Sarge would love to meet them here first to be sure it’s a good fit. We do not know how he’ll do with cats or kids. He appears to be house trained. If you're looking for a bright, fun-loving companion who will reward you with endless affection, Sarge may be your perfect match! Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter.
