Story
**Meet Birdie Bean!** This sweet young English Pointer mix (and yes, her name is Birdie for a reason!) is as lovable as she is playful. Weighing in at 38 pounds, Birdie is already potty trained, crate trained, and has a ton of energy to burn. She’s a fetch enthusiast and will happily chase after anything you throw—though she’s still working on bringing it back every time! She's great on a leash and can entertain herself for hours in a fenced yard. Birdie is a social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs, whether big or small. She warms up to everyone very quickly, especially when she realizes you're her new best friend. She would also be great with older kids. Birdie is smart, affectionate, and sweet. She’s got a laid-back side too — if you let her, she’d happily curl up next to you for hours. This brave little pup was found on Christmas Eve on a cold and rainy night in Texas. She was found abandoned by a boat with fireworks going off nearby. She was so scared that she jumped right into her foster’s EV, ready to find safety and love! Since then, she’s blossomed into a happy, affectionate companion who can’t wait to find her forever family. If you're looking for a smart, loving, and playful pup to bring joy to your home, Birdie Bean just might be the one for you! We can drive this pup to your area! If you like this cutie and you're in driving distance to Grimsby ON, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Brattleboro, Secaucus, or Hartford, please send us an inquiry here and we'll give you a call and video chat with the pup! Story
Darla is a one-year-old pointer mix with big feelings, big opinions, and zero hesitation about sharing them. She narrates her life like a soap opera star — if she doesn’t like something, she’ll complain to the manager. If you forget to pet her, she’ll also complain to the manager. If the wind blows weird? Yep… she has thoughts about that too. This girl has energy for DAYS. She would thrive in a busy, active home where she can run, play, explore, and then run some more. Daily hikes? Yes please. Jogging buddy? Absolutely. Backyard zoomies? Darla says, “Hold my leash.”She loves people with her whole heart and insists on being part of every activity you do — preferably right next to you, supervising closely and offering commentary. She is the kind of dog who brings laughter, movement, and personality to every room she enters. If you’re looking for a goofy, lively, endlessly entertaining companion who will keep life exciting, keep you active, and keep management on their toes, Darla is ready to join your household… and run it.

Story
Everyone meet outgoing Oreo! He is happy, energetic, very friendly, affectionate and just wanting to be loved. Oreo was brought to our attention by our local vet after his family brought him in to be euthanized after he was hit by a car. Oreo didn't need to be euthanized, but he did need to have his leg amputated. He still had a whole life ahead of him and being an experienced vet, she knew Oreo could still live a happy, pain-free, fulfilling life with 3 legs. His family gave up on him so we took him in and provided him with the veterinary care he needed. He's now all healed up, happy, and wanting to be a cherished member of a loving family. Oreo has plenty of energy to go around. He's a little wiggle worm who by nature is curious, intelligent, playful, loving, energetic and wants to be around people. He loves giving and receiving attention and will gladly lay his head on your lap or lean in to your legs to show his affection. He will be a phenomenal companion to join you on your nature walks as well as a great candidate to teach all kinds of tricks to that will keep him mentally stimulated and challenged. Oreo weighs around 55 lbs and was born around 4/27/22. He's neutered, up to date with vaccinations and micro-chipped. To learn more or to apply for this sweet boy, please email us at adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org Please note, if you’re not ready to adopt but would consider fostering Oreo, we would love to share with your what that means and how much of a positive difference you’d be making in a life of a dog that needs you.
