Story
Hello – I’m Smiley! I was a mama dog with a litter of puppies when Artemis took me in. I raised my babies and TAP found them homes. So now it’s my turn. I'm calm, affectionate and friendly with other dogs. And I'm looking for the family of MY dreams to take me in and love me back the way I’ll love them. I took excellent care of my puppies, now I need a family to take excellent care of me! I’m an adorable female Pointer mix born around 07/09/22. I weigh about 40 pounds. I’m spayed, heartworm negative and current on all of my vaccines and preventatives. I’m ready to pack my chew toys and move right in. I would make a great addition to your home so will you please consider becoming my forever family? Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Story
Meet Tony! At six months old and 38 pounds, Tony is one terrific pointer/hound pup who's growing into the perfect adventure buddy! This fun-loving boy will thrive in an active home with lots of daily exercise, continued training, and a yard to enjoy. He loves exploring the world with his nose and has a blast sniffing out all the exciting sights and smells around him. Tony is a light-hearted, playful boy who loves staying busy—you'll rarely catch this energetic pup standing still! While he may be a bit shy when you first meet him, with a little patience and love, his confidence continues to grow and his carefree personality shines through. In no time at all, you'll gain his trust and he'll be the best companion you ever had! Treats are definitely the way to Tony's heart! He's highly food-motivated and already knows "sit" and "paw," making him a wonderful candidate for continued training. He's a very tolerant boy, and even walks right into his kennel with the help of a tasty treat. Tony is looking for a family that will help him continue to grow, gain confidence, and discover just how wonderful life can be! Based on our evaluation, we feel Tony would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages five and up. He may have the ability to live in a home with other dogs and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. Think he could be the pup for you? Head to greatlakesdogrescue.com and submit your application for our top-notch Tony today!

Story
Meet Dojo. Dojo is a white terrier mix who was born around 1/4/25. He was going to be left behind by his family when they moved, along with a deaf heeler/Corgi male. Both dogs were taken in by a young man who was friends of the young boy of the family who were moving. The family knew of the rescue having reached out for help. . Dojo has gotten along with the 2 dogs that have been long term fosters at his foster home, both females. He has shown himself to be very kind and gentle with puppies. Dojo is a peacemaker. After being attacked by another dog, he later approached her again—gently kissed her and wagged his tail. Now they get along just fine. Dojo is a gorgeous dog with beautiful eyes and he is friendly to people of all ages. He is leash trained, kennel trained, uses the dog door. and has a calm, easy-going personality that makes him a breath of fresh air at the end of a long day. He is a great all around dog with a sweet disposition who needs a family too. He is just simply a good boy. He weighs 48 pounds and current on his vaccines, but he is being treated for heartworms on slow kill method by The Artemis Project, who will continue to provide the medications for the duration of his treatment even if you adopt him so please don't let that stop you. Dojo is so ready to move in and make your life complete! We promise, he will melt your heart with his snuggles and kisses. Please give him a chance to win your heart and become your best friend forever! That forever family he needs… could that be you? Story
Hi there, I’m Kenco—your future adventure buddy and snuggle partner! My story started in a tough place… I was one of four puppies, along with our mom and dad, who were dumped on the streets of Fort Coffee, Arkansas - an area no dog should ever have to survive in. But thanks to some kind-hearted rescuers, we were saved! Ever since, I’ve been living in a barn-kennel at the farm, anxiously awaiting for my forever family to take me home. Don’t get me wrong, I’m immensely grateful to be safe. But I do dream of couches, belly rubs, toys, and road trips with a family of my very own. I get along great with the other dogs here and have been told I’m super smart and playful! I’m a super handsome red, mahogany & white Hound/Pointer mix who was born around 3/29/23. I weigh in at about 63 pounds of PURE love. I’m neutered, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on all my vaccines & preventatives so I’m ready to roll and just waiting for YOU! I can’t wait to go exploring with you… to learn new things… and most of all - feel what it’s like to be truly loved. So if you’ve got room in your heart and home for a sweet boy like me, please apply to adopt me today! Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. Story
Hello, my name is Bewley! I’m on the lookout for a family to love me and sow me what having a REAL home feels like. I think that could be YOU, don’t you too? I was one for four puppies plus my mom and dad who were found dumped on the streets for Fort Coffee, Arkansas. Ever since, we have been living in a barn-kennel situation at the farm, just waiting to be adopted and to enjoy the comforts of a real home. I am a very handsome and lovable male chocolate Hound/Lab mix. It is thought that I was born around 3/29/23! I'm neutered, heartworm negative and UTD on vaccines and preventatives. Oh… and I weigh around 43 pounds – the perfect not-too-big, not-too small size! I've been great around the dogs here and I LOVE to play with them. I am playful and have lots of energy so if you have a yard for me to play in, that would be GREAT! They tell me that I’m very smart so I’d love it if you’d teach me some tricks. I should learn them very quickly. I'm ready to find my forever family, so if you are interested in more information or meeting me, please submit an application to adopt me TODAY!
