Story
Dobbie, a Pointer Mix, born approximately December of 2022.  Dobbie came to our rescue fighting for her life against the deadly virus, Parvo.  Dobbie fought and beat parvo!!  She is great with dogs but working on personal space, and not being so mouthy. She has learned to play with toys by herself and loving it.  She loves playing in the yard and WATER.  She still barks a lot so an apartment might not be the best for her. An amazing home would be one with a back yard that she can run around in, or even someone that enjoys going camping and being outside! She is very treat motivated.  She is now completely potty trained and trained to ring a bell when she needs to go outside.  Her favorite game is searching and chasing bugs outside.  Once that task is done she likes to just sun bathe.  Would Dobbie be the perfect pup for your family? The suggested adoption donation for Dobbie is $350. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##1720105##

Story
My name is Cougar. I am an enthusiastic and happy dog who loves to run and play like a goofball until I’m tired and then to snuggle up and sleep like a baby. I do not have a mean bone in my body, but I can be a little nervous and jumpy, especially when I’m getting to know new people, places, or dogs. But once I figure out that I’m safe, I’m as happy and goofy as ever! I would love to live with a fun-loving friendly dog who would play and wrestle with me, but I would not do well with an aggressive dog. I do great at the dog park; I greet the friendly dogs, avoid the more aggressive dogs, and enjoy running all around. I also do great with my foster family’s cat; I mostly just leave her alone because she is cranky. I have lots of energy and so need lots of exercise, but if I get enough exercise, I’m a dream around the house. Currently I go to the dog park every morning to burn off my energy, but I would also make a great morning running partner for someone who likes to put on the miles because I can go and go and go! Once I burn off my energy in the morning, I am able to chill out until my people come home from school/work in the afternoon. I am good at going in my kennel overnight, when my people need to be away, or sometimes just to take a nap, but I really love to snuggle on the couch with my foster parents. I’m a really good snuggler; I’m warm, soft, and can melt right into your lap! I am potty trained, although I did have an accident in my foster house once when I was scared to go outside in the yard because of noises in the neighborhood. My foster parents figured out that they have to take me out on a leash sometimes to potty when I’m too nervous to stay outside by myself. I have been working hard at learning my commands. I’m still not perfect (treats help!!), but I know “sit,” “stay,” and “go to your pillow.” I am working on learning “down.” Walks around the neighborhood are one of my favorite things to do, and I’m working on learning not to pull. I’m looking for a forever home that is quiet and calm and with people who will snuggle with me and help me get enough exercise, feel safe when I get nervous, and keep learning my commands. For your help, I’ll repay you with so much love and with snuggles! Oh, and I have the softest ears; you won’t be able to resist touching them! Cougar is an English Pointer who was born approximately 8-5-19 and weighs 41 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease and started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. Story
Jackson came into rescue after the breeder retired & surrendered his remaining dogs. He had only known life inside a chain link dog run with a cement floor. He is loving his freedom now and his fun personality is emerging! He thoroughly enjoys engaging with other playful dogs & having their company. Noisy or active young kids would likely scare him. Jackson was born with a paw/ankle deformity, but he doesn't let it slow him down and doesn't seem to be causing him any pain. We have started him on joint supplements to be sure he is getting some added nutrition to help keep arthritis at bay. He will need to have a secure fenced yard as he is not familiar with leash walking and deserves to have free reign to romp, sniff & frolic. Jackson is a joy to be around as he blossoms into the happy dog he was always meant to be! Jackson is an English Pointer who was born approximately 8-5-18 and weighs 55 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease and started on heartworm prevention.
