Story
Say hello to Lucy and Ricky, a bonded duo looking for their dream place to live out their golden years! Like Ma and Dorothy on "The Golden Girls", they just can't leave each other! Lucy is a Australian Cattle Dog mix (born Dec 2015). Ricky is a Pointer mix (born Jan 2018).  They are very timid dogs, but will be your best pals once they trust you. Lucy is Ricky's emotional support dog and he just loves to be around her. Ricky's days normally include napping and hoarding the toys. Meanwhile, Lucy spends her day napping and hanging with her people! Due to their size and energy, they need a home with a fenced yard. They both would be okay with another canine friend in their forever home! Every duo needs a "Golden Girls Rose", don't they? Lucy and Ricky are happy to be retiring and look forward to enjoying the good life without young kiddos. Are you ready to welcome them into your home? The suggested adoption donation for Ricky and Lucy is $400. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page, Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2046794##

Story
Hi! My name is Danica and I am a 2 year old (b. 2022) black and white Pointer mix! I am a very cute girl who was rescued from my hometown in Houston, Texas. I only had minutes to spare when I was rescued, at risk of being euthanized any moment. I used to be a stray and wander the streets of Houston, causing me to now be positive for heartworm and being a mom to multiple puppy litters. But since being adopted, I have been put on meds (but to me they just taste like treats) to help me with my heartworm and I am starting to feel like a new woman! I love being with my person, my foster mom calls me a Velcro Dog. I get a little nervous when apart from my person, so ideally I would love to live with someone who is home rather often and will want my company all day every day. I am a super sweet girl who just loves to lounge around with others and occasionally play with my foster brother. I am not a fan of being kenneled, but I am house trained. Please bring me into your loving home and you will receive all the love. The suggested adoption donation for Danica is $300, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Being a German Shorthair & Hound mix, you can imagine that ol' Oscar is a lover of the outdoors! This sweet boy was born in May of 2015 and is still looking for a place to call his own. Oscar enjoys being around people, especially ladies, but he understands what it's like to need some space: your time, my time, and our time! Oscar experiences anxiety and because of this, boundaries are important to him. When his anxiety is low, Oscar is a goofy, playful boy who likes to chase balls, sticks, and rabbits. He loves, loves, loves long walks with plenty of time to let his hound nose get some exercise, and lots of exercise helps work off that extra energy that can make this handsome boy nervous! Because of his love for exploration, Oscar will need a fenced-in yard to keep him close to home. Oscar is not kennel trained, but is totally fine being left to lounge around the house while you're away; he's also housetrained so no worries about that business! Oscar is a very smart dog who knows "sit", "stay", "lay down", "leave it" and he also knows that when he follows these fun words he gets really yummy treats! Oscar's ideal home will be with an active person/couple who love to explore nature, just like he does, and who will love him like family while respecting his need for boundaries and independence! The suggested adoption donation for Oscar is $315.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. Story
Welcome to rescue, Milo!  Milo is a German Shorthair/Lab mix, born just 6 months ago (b. Jan 2024).  He is adjusting to his new surroundingsand recovering with lots of TLC.  He is timid, but friendly and very handsome! Milo  is quick to warm up and once he does, he cannot get enough of his "people". He can be playful and LOVES to fetch. He can also just relax and snuggle. He is in the perfect era where you can continue to mold him into the great dog he already is. Milo is a quick learner as he already knows simple commands. While he is vocal in his kennel, he is learning to adapt and settles in within 10 minutes. Milo is making great improvement with potty training as he is learning to explore the yard. He is quite the growing boy but he doesn't realize it quite yet. Who wants to let Milo melt not only into their lap but as well as their heart?! Please Note:  Milo came to rescue Parvo+ and won’t be able to go to his furever home until 7/24/24 as he will be “shedding” parvo until then. We encourage you to apply today to adopt Milo so we can start the adoption process now! The suggested adoption donation for Milo is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
