Dove is one of the sweetest souls you will ever have the pleasure of loving. This beauty is 2-3 years old. She is a pointer lab  dalmation mix and weighs  40-50 lbs.  A true bringer of Peace and Harmony – Dove is a people lover with a calm energy and the sweetest face you can imagine. Her eyes are those of an old soul and with one look she will melt your heart. For a girl with only 3 legs, she can move with the best of them, but she’s just as happy to be curled up on the porch or lying out in the sunshine. Dove LOVES people, is great with kids and loves getting all the pats and attention. Her tail will immediately let you know how happy she is to see you when walk into a room with her.  Dove is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. We require adopters to have a safe and secure backyard - not electric or Fido fences as they are not as safe at containing dogs or keeping other animals or people out. For these reasons we do not adopt to homes with electric or Fido fencing. The adoption fee is $500, which includes age appropriate vaccines, microchip, monthly flea, tick and heart worm preventatives at time of adoption and age appropriate spay/neuter.

DIAMOND IN THE RUFF: Arlo is a gorgeous boy who has so much love to give. He found his way to ARF after being abandoned on a rural road in Texas with the help of our partner X-port Paws and support from The Irving and Phyllis Millstein Foundation for Animal Welfare. His puppies and their Mom along with him, a brave group of teens took their time and finally captured Arlo after a week of dedication. Arlo’s past is unclear, but we know he’s been through a lot. Arlo is very fearful and slow to trust. It will take him some time and a lot of treats (especially string cheese) for him to learn new people are safe. Special care and management must be taken with Arlo in his new home. Once Arlo trusts you, he is an absolute love bug! He loves to lay on your lap, snuggle, and overall be your best friend. DUKE IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE HE IS ADOPTED! Meet Duke!  This gentle guy will steal your heart quick! Duke loves to follow you every where and just be with his people. His tail is constantly wagging. He is eager to meet everyone he meets. He is a fan of giving kisses! He is also quite the looker- check out those amazing eyes. He is a 2 year old mixed breed pup. He weighs about 60lbs. Duke is good with other dogs, cats, and children. Duke does well by himself, but loves to play with his other foster dog siblings. Duke is potty trained, crate trained, knows how to sit (and is working on other commands), is content to play with himself, sleep on the floor next to you, or head out on an adventure. Duke rides well in the car. He walks great on a leash. He’s attentive, smart, and so sweet. He would make the perfect addition to any home or lifestyle. He’s a 10/10 perfect dog!     adoption donation : $699 weight 40 lbs  Age 2 years       Sweet Stubby was found wandering alone in a rural part of Mississippi, and taken in by an elderly man who fell in love with this gentle boy but couldn’t keep him. He called Wags for help and the rescue took him in, The man’s grandson named him Stubby for his little short legs!     Stubby is a sweet boy, he is gentle and gets along fine with all the dogs at the rescue. He was recently neutered and has all his vaccinations and is ready for a loving home. Stubby absolutely loves to be with his people, he follows the director of the rescue all over the property, his little tail wagging. He is gentle with children and just a great family dog. Stubby is house trained at Wags but like any rescue may need a refresher while he adjusted to a new home.   Stubby is ready to come to the northeast on Saturday, March 8. He will make a wonderful member of the family.       Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY.  ZORROLoki is approx 5yrs old and and 60lbs, housebroken and crate trained.  He enjoys his crate and goes into it when ever he is looking to relax. Loki has been good with other dogs, seems to prefer smaller or female dogs and would do well with an equally playful dog.  He walks well on a leash, would love to agility as he is very athletic and loves to jump. We would recommend Loki in a home without young children and with someone who can provide him structure and consistency. She's not just a dog; she's a testament to resilience and trust. Her journey started in a loud shelter, where she was a new mother to a litter of 8 precious puppies. Eleanor's protective instincts ran deep, making it challenging for her to trust humans. This situation put her and her little ones at risk of euthanasia. But then, a ray of hope shone through when Eleanor found her way to St. Francis Farm. Over time, in the safe and loving environment of the farm, she has made incredible strides in opening up and learning to trust our dedicated staff.
